Before they began the dream was thought of again, and Mr. Chipp was asked to relate it. Before opening the cover he had a presentiment of just what he was going to sec. The cash box was locked as if it had not been disturbed, but on opening it upward of $14,000 worth of Government bonds were missing. Close by were $100 in currency aud two $50 bond.-*, none of which had been touched. On mak ing this startling discovery, Mr. Chipp said very little, and thus far has not given notice to any detective or official. The bonds were I o" Ibo series of 1807.
