The affair took place this morning about 1

The residence. No. 4213 Kingessing avenue,
is a beautiful brown stone villa, the grounds
.surrounding comprising a front of about CO

Mr. Parker occupied the second story front
room of the house as a sleeping room, and in
the room adjoining slept his wife and her on

:, on) was occupied by three domestics, while
in a fourth the nurse and the child slept in
the upper story. The servants state that they
were f ast asleep when they were alarmed by
Mrs. Parker knocking at the door and crying
out to them to admit her. One of them sprang

Parker was then dead, Gallagher did not care ;
to enter the room in which the tragedy had j
been enacted, but scrambled to the ground |
again. He then ran for the police, and when
tney appeared, Mrs. Parker's room was at
once entered, but it appeared as if nothing
unusual bad occurred. In it? crib at its
mother's bedside asleep, laid the child, to-
t..’jy unconscious of the calamity which had
befallen it. On locking into the bed one of the
officers discovered Mr. Parker, apparently
asleep, but a short examination proved that he
was dead. The small wound in the back part
of the head behind the right ear showed too
plainly the cause of his death. Near at hand
lay the instrument of death, a four-barrelled
Sharpe’s pistol, two loads of which had been
discharged.
