The business integrity, and even-handed prosperity unite in de manding a return to the common standard of the world, and that the banking privileges should be ex tended to those who can give fit securities for the prompt redemption of the circulation they utter, in as good money ss the Government makes tbe lawful money of the country. Resolved, That we pledge ourselves to firmly resist ! the probability of the State Government, by special legislation, being made a pleasant lnstru- ! ment of unworthy private schemes, and | that wo demand in every department of public expenditure, rigid economy and good faith, j and thorough investigation and pnnisbmeat of all of- 1 ficial misconduct.
