Bloody Drama. DOUBLE CBIME IN EIGH LITE. GRAND OPENING. HOTELS, JIIA11ROCK HOUSE. From tLe Philadelphia Ledger, September 25. Another terrible domestic tragedy was en- cted at 1 o’clock, yesterday morning, at No. 4215 Kingsessing avefrue, in the twenty-sev enth ward, where Mr. Thomas B. Parker, after shooting his wife in the head, shot him self through the brain, killing bimselt instant ly. The wife is still living, the bull from a small four-barreled Sharp's pistol having passed through her lelt eyeball, and has not yet been lound. Her condition is quite criti cal. Ihe circumstances of her case aro as follows: Thomas B. Parker, the deceased, was a son of the late Isaac Parker, who left a large estate, part of which included the ground upon which ihe Continental Hotel is built. He has not been in the business for many years, having inherited n large income from his father’s estate, the principal of which was held in trust for him by Lis brother. About eight years ago Parker married Miss Helen McGregor, he then being about thirty-four ycaisnndshe twenty years old. They have had bat ore child, a boy, now about two years old. They resided in elegant stjie in = an ornamental brown stone villa in the west-j era portion of West Philadelphia, the house j being surrounded by beautiful grounds, con- j servatories, etc., and furnished within with ; most of the luxuries and comforts of the rcsi- • dence of a refined and wealthy family. Mr. i Parker’s habits have not been such as to make his relations with his wife of tbe hap- ' piest, aud for a loDg time past they have oc-! copied separate rooms, the child occupying a cot in its mother’s apartment. On Tuesday afternoon Mr. Parker was i , , „„ riding in a phffiton driven by bis coachman j : MARBLE, and on his return his deroeanoi was noticed j prices. From the tenor cf onr recent Washington specials it seems likely the Surratt matter will soon have more light thrown upon it by one who ought to be abundantly able to ex plain, at least his own share, in that dark transaction. Reports, apparently well au thenticated, assert that ex-President Johnson declines to indorse the lately published statement of Judge Advocate General Holt, which lays upon tho former gentleman the unpleasant responsibility of having ordered the execution of Mrs. Surratt, after the court had recommended a commutation of her punishment to imprisonment for life.
