It has been discovered that the robbety of
the store of Messrs. T. P. Itonlett A Co., of
Angnsta, on Christmas eve, was committed by
a yonng man named Fair, alias Hardscram-
ble. Upon being arrested last Friday, and
goods pnrebased with the stolen money,
($800), found in his possession, he confessed
the crime.
The following list comprises the names of
those who were lost on tho ill-fated boat,
Elizabeth Main, of Savannah, some weeks
since. They are all colored:

The Brunswick Appeal: The colored people
in Camden have continued to improve in be
havior since the Hillyers were defeated for the
Legislature in October, 1872. Large qtfihii-

Tho Savannah Morning News; The Catho
lics of Savannah held a mass meeting on Sun
day evening last for the purpose of arranging
a method for raising lands for the Catholio
Cathedral of that city. Bishop Gross deliv
ered an address. There was a large atten
dance and considerable feeling manifested.
The excessive fog on Saturday cansed several
vessels to get aground near the Garden banks,
and several vessels doe were delayed in their
arrival. No serious damage resulted how
ever. A seaman belonging to the bark Kelly,
(Norwegian) came near being crushed to
death by tho falling of a bale of cotton that
was being hoisted aboard. He was consider
ably bruised bat not seriously injured.
The Griffin News: Wooten and Andrews’
Great Southern Show will exhibit in Griffin
on thd 13th inst. The Griffin Literary and
Historical Society have elected the following
officers for the ensuing year: Dr. J. T. Banks,

The Griffin Star: The Star has established
an Atlanta Department. Schearman’s draw
ing came off on Friday last at the Opera
House. The affair was well conducted.
