SAVANNAH ADVERTISER.
It is rumored that Kimball has been in
duced to return by ex-Gov era or Brown and
others, formerly attorneys in the Mitchell
heirs case, to testify on their behalf in the
suit which has been brought against them by
General Toombs, the present attorney for the
Mitchell heirs, upon the ground of their hav
ing taken advantage of the confidential rela
tions of attorneys and clients, in advising
them to accept the terms upon which the case
was settled. There may be something in
this.

entered deeply, striking the carotid artery,
the swallow and windpipe, all of which
would have been severed, but ior the dnll-

Atlantic and Great Western* Canal.—The
Baltimore Sub’s Washington telegram of
Tuesday, says:
Senator Gordon introduced in the Senate
to-day a bill granting aid to the Atlantic and
Great Western canal project, similar in its
provisions to the bill introduced in the House.
General Gordon says these bills contain in
the main the same provisions as in the bill
introduced by him last spring. He is very
enthusiastic over the project, and is confident
of obtaining government aid. It may be said,
however, that appearance do not indicate that
this confidence is well founded.
Health's Shield aad Protection.
Health is universally admitted to be the!
most desirable of earthly blessings, yet it is
jeoparded as recklessly as if it were of no
value at all. Thousands who are compelled
by their occupations and 'pursuits to breath
unwiioleshme air, to expose themselves to
violent alterations of beat and cold, and to
brave other evils inimical to health and life,
utterly neglect to fortify themselves against
the dangers which surround them by a proper
course of tonic treatment For many years
ithasbeena public fact, undenied even by
the martinets of the medicxl profession,
that Hostetter’s Stomach Bitters is the best
antidote to malaria and the finest acclimating
medicine io existence. In fever and ague
districts, in tropical and other regions visited
by epidemics, uud indeed in all localities
where the conditions are unfavorable to health
this famous vegetable invigorant and alteraj
tive has been ioand a potent safeguard even
to feeble constitutions and fragile frames
while as a cure for indigestion, biliousness and
all£ kindred complaints it is confessedly
without a rival. feb!3-lw

N at a re's Cathartic .
No medicine is needed to keep the bowels
in order as long as natare’s cathartic, the
bile, flows freely and regularly from its source
io the liver, and is of the right strength and
quality. But the great biliary gland is easi
ly disordered, and tbe consequences of its ir
regularities are seriong. To bring it back to
its natural condition when thus affected,
I ion tetter’s Stomach Bitters should be taken
at least twice a day until tbe desired object is
attained. Constipation is due to a scant sup
ply o! bile, or to a lack of the stimulating ele
ment in the fluid. In either CAsa mere pur
gation is useless. The liver must be com
pelled to yield the supply of bile necessary to
remove the waste matter from tbe system at
least once in twenty-four hours before a radi
os d cure of costiveuess can be accomplished.
Hostetter’s Bitters produces this effect. IU
action upon the stomach and liver is di*ect
and salutary, and through these organs it re
gulates and invigorates the whole frame.
