THE AMERICAN CENTEXSIAL-
The Singer still Victorious I
Again the Singor Sowing Machine tri
umphs over the world. Tho Centennial
Commission have officially announced the
awards, and decreed for tho ever popular
Singer Machine two Diplomas of Merit,
and two Medals of Honor. This is a dou
ble victory, and tbo highest award which
it was in the power of tbe Centennial
authorities to bestow. Noether company
received snoh a recognition in this de
partment. More than thirty of the heat
producers of machin a in this and other
countries entered for competition, and in
Philadelphia, in 1876, a3 in Vienna, in
1873, Tho Singer head* tbe list. After a.
careful, vigorous and exhaustive exami
nation, the judges decided that the su
perior excellence of tL-cso machines de
served more than one medal and diploma,
and consequently, they gave two of each.
The Centennial Commission unanimous
ly ratified tho action of tbo judges, and
the public do endorse the decision of the
ablest of mechanical experts. A claim
for equally distinguished honors by any
other sewing machine company is only an
attempt to hoodwink tbe people. The
absurdity of any other company cl-tlming
equality even, with “Tits Singer ” is pre
posterous. The people have long since
proclaimed it the best, and now this justly
and well merited award of the Centen
nial Commission is only another proof to
the public that "The Singer” is not only
the bes\ but the only reliable machine
in the world. The following returns of
sales 8worn to by each company give the
coirect number of machines sold by these
leading companies during the past five
years. This tells ite own story:
