Nxw Fork, Nov. 27.—James Boyd.
Jr., cliaa Jiiu Bojd, has been arrested,
charged with dealing in counterfeit quar
ters and ten-ccnt nieces. The Commis
sioner committed Boyd to jail for exami
nation, in default of $5,000 hail.

was discovered yesterday morning on the

-eat school in St. Lonis. Upon the

good order, bat a panic seized the girls

ertions of tho teachers, they rushed
wildly into the stairways and tbs greatest
confusion resulted. The pressure caused
the balusters between the second and
ground floors to give way, and several

Ella L’nck’e arm was broken. Ecams
Dillon was badly hurt about the bead
and opper part of tho body by the baluj-
ters failing on her, and Eva Shaefer was
severely bruised.

trampled on and borne to the ground

Atlanta, November 27.—Ten men
from DcKalb county were taken before
United States Commissioner Smith on
Charge of kuhlnxing a man named AIo-
Aipin, his son and daughter. AH three
were terribly beaten, but it did not ap
pear that they were assaulted for any po
litical or other reason in violation of the
United States laws; and the case was dis
missed, but it will probably go before tbe
State Courts. It is claiwt d that the gill
was intimate with a negro.
DANVER, Can, November 27.—Tho

The St. Louis Smelting and Bcfluing
Company sued Thomas Hemp el at, to
reoover the leases purchased by that

and which bad been taken possession of

patentee had fulfilled their conditions.
