But in regard to Ibe bolding back of the crop, there are a few important points to be oonaidered, which tbe cantions and intelligent planter will not overlook. It ia more expensive, rad oertainly more dangerons to bold tbe crop at borne than to send it to his warehouseman or factor for storage. When it ia stored at borne, the insurance, if any is obtained, ia much higher than when tho cotton is stored in a fire-proof warebonse in tbe cily, and if there is no insur ance upon it when on tbe plantation, the pro- Agenta for Urn Bale of THE EUREKA IRON TIE, THE ANCHOR IRON TIE, SWETTS auglS-tf SELF-FASTENING IBON TIE. Changes or Food in the Luis lima.—Tho fi nal stago of digestion baa for its object tbe con verting into blood of so much of the food u his not been already absorbed directly from the stom ach. Tbe seat of this process ia in the intestines. In the duodenum (the portion of tbe intestines next to tbe stomach) tha food, dissolved in the gastric juice, ia commingled with the bfle and the pancreatic fluid, which are poured in through two separate ducts. Tbe latter rabetrace, the secre-. tion of tho pancreas, is alkaline, rad somewhat similar to salire. It neutralize* (that is, dissolves) oils; and also converts etarchy compounds into sugar. The bfle, again, is the secretion of tbe fiver, formed not as other secretions, from arterial, but, exceptionally, from eeaoa* blood. The dissolved food, after passing from tbe stomach, is absorbed by numerous minute tubes, the loeUtU, and, through tho Okorocic duet, ia led from the lxctscla to tbe left subclavian vein, and thus into tho gen eral circulation. Tbe food so becomes part of the blood, the fluid which renovates the worn-out tla- of tbe system, worn-out in life’s ceaseless wear and tear. But, besides being an agent in the digestive process, the bile is also nature's chosen and most efficient laxative and purgatiTe. Now, Dr. Fiach'i Bitten promote, (at the tame thus reg ulating,) tb* flow of this accretion. The eystem ia thus effectually secured from biliousness on the one band, and from constipation on the other. Vi olent purging is not the way to remove constipation. Neither ia vblent purging a purifier of the blood. An abundance of food, with an abundance of bile and the allied fluids, to digest it, will mike an abun dance of good, nourishing, strengthening blood, not needing purifying. ON MA.BEIAGE.
