Valxdicttoh.—With this issue of tbe Tri.r-
osaph AST> Mrasxson, my connection with it aa
local, commercial and night editor,
retiring from the position to which I was so
kindly called by Messrs. Clisby A Reid, daring
the spring of 1868, and in which I have received
so many favora at the hands of the good and
intelligent people of Macon, and also from the
press of the State and friends in Georgia and
Alabama, I would be recreant to a feeling of
gratitude and affection to part with them, in
these columns, without returning to each and
all who bave thus befriended me, tbe moat
grateful thanks and acknowledgments. Nor am
I leas gratefnl to my employers for the kind and
gentlemanly manner in which they have ever
acted toward me. To Mr. Ricks, the foreman
of the office, and to his excellent corps of typos,
with whom I have so long been Intimately asso
ciated in business, I can bnt offer my most sin
cere thanks, for tbe respect and kindly feelings
they have ever manifested for me. I assure
them all, from tbe worthy senior down to the
homblest newsboy, that I leave them with no
nnkind feeling rankling in my heart, and with
the consolation that I have never, during my
connection with this office, purposely wronged,
by word or set, any one of them.
In tbe hurry of the moment, or oocaaion,
have at times written paragraphs which my after
judgment did not approve; and I have likewise
written others that gave offence or wounded
feelings, bnt God knows it was not my purpose
to do so, and on this score I can safely appeal
to every generous heart, thus wounded, for par
don.
My position has been one of arduous labor?,
both day and night, and one fall of responsibil
ities, end it is a prood satisfaction to feel that
my employers and co laborers all will say I have
never betrayed any trnst confided to me, during
my business relations with them.
Having secured an interest in Ihs Macon
Daily Citizen, my friends in Macon and else
where will find me in that office, where I shall
always be hsppy to see them.
Again thanking the citizens of Macon and
their officials for numerous kind favors and at
tentions, and tho proas gang of Georgia gen
erally, I pass my pen and position to my suc
cessor, Mr. W. C. Gunn. Respectfully,
B. D. Snnorsninz.

Don't Miscosstbce.—Wo pleasantly men
tioned tbe faet a day or two since, that three of
onr most worthy and beloved pastors cf the

The facta are simply these: The ministerial

beauties, and as they were passing along the
side of tho race Ira A of lhe horses,
now in training there, dashed along at a rapid
gait, and one of tho gentlemen remarked: “I
wonder how fast that horse ia going.” Another,
in order to answer the question, stopped a mo

notice of the opening night:
Dn. Sid’s PeefomiascE.—Dr. Sid’s perform

we understand st least 200 were compelled to
be turned away for want of room. Punctual
to the minute the Doctor stepped forward, and
amid a tamnltnous round of applause, made
his bow to tbe assembled beauty and fashion
of Augusta. With perfect tang froid be then
proceeded with the performance, which em
braced a variety of well rendered feats of leger
demain, acrobatic exhibitions by the wonderful
automation, and a most laughable and enter
taining musical performance by the famous
