Bukhkidk, Conn., December 15,1869.
Dr, HELHBOLD:
Otar Sir: It is with much ploaauro that I write
yon upon facta respecting myself. I do net know
hardly bow to express myself. 1 haro been for the
last ten or twelve year, tee greatest sufferer man
could be and live, hut more sometimes than others.
The complaint was the "Kidneys" and “Bladder.
I hare been sometimes from twelve to fourteen
boon and wanted to make water overy minute, bnt
could not. Have consulted doctors both in Massa
chusetts and this State, and taken pills, I may aay,
by the quail, also liquored medicines; but found
no relief from any, and got worse the last six
montlis. I was so that I could scarcely got abont.
I could not rest night or day. It would soon hare
been “all np" with mo if 1 had not seen your ad
vertisement In The Berkshire Courier, headed
“Kidney.". I read it through, and thought I would
try it. I purchased a bottle; hut, mind yon, I had
not much faith in it. Why should I, when I had
boon trying so many things and cost me so much ?
Well, before I had taken the first bottle I felt bad;
hut I finished it and got another. By the time I took
hair of the second 1 still gut worse (apparently).
When I walked it soemed as if my right kidney was
falling from its place, and I tuado np my mind it
was of no nsa trying any more. And all this time
the “Buchn" was doing Us work, but I did not know
it; so I gave it up. and wont to Hartford, on Sat
urday, to ono of the beat doctors in tho city. He
said it was tho neck of tho bladder, and I should
have to undergo an operation. Ho gave me med
icine, and I went homo quite down-hearted. On
Sunday I was unable to go to chnrcb. I bad not
taken of hie medicine, bnt on my return, continued
using the “Buchnand in the afternoon I had a
desire to make water, but could not- About one
boor after this I tried again, with the asms result;
but the next time I took the vessel it was the same
as turning a faucet and stopping it off again. It was
to for three times, and the third time there wae
eomothlng cams through the passage and struck
against the side of the Teasel. I examined it, and
it is the ugliest stone or gravel you ever saw, cov
er sd over with little piocce which collected together.
It look* the color of a mod turtle, and ia as hard aa
flint. So yon see the "Buchn" was doing ita work,
although I was fooling so badly. I procured another
bottle, thinking there might be some more behind;
but since that has passed, which is eight weeks ago
last Sunday, I have been aa well as ever I was in my
life. I hero the atone securely wrapped, and those
who have seen it in this place aro surprised. I can
not tell yon all; but this is a true story of my case,
and you are welcome to make each use of my name

Having seen your preparation extensively adver

using your Extract Buchn.
I did this because I bad need all kinds of adver

some quite injurious; in fact, I despaired of ever

hereafter, unless I knew of the ingredients. It was
this that prcmpttd me to use your remedy. As yon

to say that, after consulting many eminent physi
cians and trying nearly all the beet advertised rem

suffered excessively for many yean, good fortune
finally suggested to me "Helmbold’s Bnchu,” which
I oommencod using with little faith, and no appa
rent beneficial result far about a month. At the
expiration of that time, however, I thought I com

aged me to persevere in ita nse. Now, at the exph
ration of four months, although I am an infirm old
man, nearly 78yean of age, and consequently med-
idnee cannot be expected to favorably affect me as
they otherwise would, I bare found snob unspeaka

DR. HELHBOLD:
Dear Sir: Having suffered with gravel for up
ward of nine years, and not obtaining any relief
from the various physicians in my section, I visited
Philadelphia for the pnrpose of haring an operation
performed some ten or eleven weeks since; bnt, on
my arrival, I saw yonr advertisement in the Ledger,
and I determined to try it first, havinga great aver
sion to the operation. I purchased tbreo bottles,
although at tbe time I had but little faith in medi
cine in my case, bnt hoping it might relieve my suf
fering. 1 toon fonnd my pain to decrease, and felt
much more comfortable. I then purchased one
dozen bottlee. I continued to nse it, and at the ex
piration of four weeks I noticed a deposit in my
chamber, and upon inspection I found this to be
gritty, and then determined to examine more close
ly ; and to my surprise I found this to be small par
ticles, larger than a pin’s head. I continued to use
the medicine, and have collected a few of the aaxne,
which I enclose* I continued to pass them until
within three weeks. My water previous to using it
was foveriah, and a sediment would form from it.
Since that period it ia much lighter, the pain has
ceased, and I am able to inform yon that it is now
of a natural color, and I have no pun, or inflamma
tion in any part of my body, and can walk, ride or
rest, without any inconvenience.
I shall leave for home to-morrow, and shall take

time, although I feel well now, and can candidly
aay that it has effected a cure when all other reme

Feeling grateful that I was so fortunato to find
