THE IriOGrAIST FERTILIZES.
Farmers, proenre lOfiAX’S COXCEKTRATED SOLUBLE FHOSPIIATE and mix according
to tho Formula, with Manure at home, and jot have the BEST, CHEAPEST
and LEAST KXPEX81YE Fertilizer known.
T HE time has come when planting, to be profitable, must be conducted upon a plan somewhat differ
ent from our former operations We must eo manage as to got tho largest possible return from a
given amount at labor. If we can make the same labor produce eix bags of cotton, that formerly made
only ihres or four, wo make an advance ef fifty or ono hundred per cent: but the question may be
asked: Can this be done ? We reply: It can ; if we adopt a more thorough cultivation of the soil,
aiotd by a liberal but judicious use cf fertilizers—we will certain y accomplish this object. It is useless
to continue planting the old fields without, in some way, enriching them; their meagre crop will not
pay for the labor. Every farmer should commence a system ot deep ploughing. This is the beat baai*
that can be laid for future efforts at improvement, but it is cot enough; eoms of the element* of plant-
food have been go exhausted from tho soil that they must be returned from other sources before fertil-
ty can be restored. This is the aim of the Chemical Fertilizers offered on the market. Generally, they
are too expensive, the farmer cannot afford to nee them in qaanuths sufficient to make any permanent
improvement of tho soil In these commercial fertilizers are elements which the farmer has at homo;
with proper economy he can hosband and nse them, and thus save money for the purchase of only those
elements w’.vch he c-nnot proenre on his own farm. Ho wants, therefore, a fertilizer containing, in a
concentrated form, all the elements which he cannot proenre at homo.
LOGAiJ OOKTOEKrTRATEri PHOSPHATE
Ts a compound of all the elements the farmer needs for combiniDg with wbat he has within his resell.
One ton of the “Logan Phosphate,” used according to the directioue, will fertilize twico aa many acres
as a ton of the beat and most expensive fertilizer in tbe market, and yet the cost will not exceed one-
half of wbat ho usually pays for tr e best fertilizers, besides the saving of 70 per cent, of freights, etc.
“Lagan’s Ferti izer” was prepared for the benefit of friends and immediate neighbors. Aft-r three
vearsof con’innally increasing use, and complete demonstration of itavaluo, it is now offered to the
fanners generally. The original standard will bo maintained, and all essential points will be clearly in
dicated in the directions furnished to purchasers In the sections of country where it ia of importance
to have aa early maturity of cotton, to compensate for the devastation by blight and caterpillar, we
would most especially recommend the “Logan Fertilizer.” We earnestly recommend a trial. Two dol
lars per acre is the only outlay. (We annex some of tho many certificates that have been received from
parries who have need and experimented with the Logan Fertilizer )
