the arrival of Wagner, tte alleged murderer;

name of the family in which the tragedy oc
curred is Hontoet, not Huntress. Hontoet is a
Norwegian, and an industrious and much re
spected fieberman. Mrs. Hontoot’s oondition

proachable character and remarkable for per
sonal beanty.

St. Loch, March 7.—A widow lady, Mrs.
Lanxton, and her adopted danghter, twelve
years old, were found dead in bed at their home
in Maitoon, Illinois, yesterday morning, with
their throats cut frem ear to ear. A common

Lanxton's throat snd her right hand grasping

evidently having been arranged after death and
nicely covered with the bed clothes. A son cf
Mrs. Lanxton has been arrested on suspicion of

The latter denied the charge; nod it was finally

dozen quarts of champagne. Mr. Christian
was represented by Mr. E. H. Harman and Mr.
Howard by Mr. It. J. Hardeman. Thus the
oourt was organized, and then followed one of
the richest arbitration cases that ever trans
pired in Macon, consuming about feur hours.
Ooe witness was sworn who identified the
writing as being Mr. Howard’s; but another
witness was introduoed who impeached tbe tes
timony of the first most handsomely. He not
only swore he wonid not believe him on oath,
bnt awore further, that he had eTery reason to
belisre that toe first witness was a dead corpse,
and had been so for ten yearn. He cited • fact
