Weakness of Kellogg's Government.
From ths Cincinnati Commercial ]
The English language is not strong enough
to convey the height and breadth of the Louisi
ana people's hatred of Kellogg. Especially
is this true of the leas intelligent of them.
They do not stop to consider that he has a color
of title to the effloe, but regard him only as a
usurper seeking to rob them of their liberties.
In tbeir eyes he is a modern Nero, a usurper, a
t jrsnt, a robber, and, ir. fact, everything that is
villainous and dlsrepntible. The United States
out of the way, and Kellogg and his govern-
ment would be swept into the sea. It is the
fear of Federal bayonets Ibat hold the people
in check. Save the Federal power, a few thou
sand effioe-hunters, and the negroes, Kellogg
has no supporters. If the Government shonld
