A wicked boy, whose Sunday-school experience seems only to have made him more depraved, caught a fire fly and stack it, with the aid of some mucilage, ia tbe centre of the- largest lens in telescope. That night, when the astronomer went to work, keperoeived a blaze of light apparently in the heaven*, and, what amazed him more was, that it would give a couple of apurtc aod then die out, only to bunt forth again in a second or two. He examined it carefully for a few mo ments, and then he began to do sums to dis cover where in the heavens that extraordinary star waa placed. He thought he found the lo cality, and tbe next morning he telegnpbed all over the universe that he had discovered a new aod remarkable star of the third magnitnde in Orion. In a day or two all the estronomenin Europe and America were stndying Orion, and they gazed at it for houn until they were mad, and then they began to telegraph to the man in Washington to know what be meant. The dis cover took another look, and fonnd that tbe new star had moved about eighteen billion miles in twenty-fonr horns, and npon examin ing it closely he was alarmed to perceive that it had leg*.
