Furnishing articles by contract, or solicited favors,

will be a general rule not to take unpaid letters from
the post-olfice unless they are so marked. Commu
nications of whatever nature must be addressed to
Wm. C. Richards. Anonymous communications
will receive no attention. If a writer desires to pub
lish without name or with a nom deplume, he must
still furnish the Editor with his proper name, who
will of course observe a proper secresy. Writers will
please send fair ms., written on one side of the sheet
only.

Os a Semi-Monthly Paper to be published in Athens,
ENTITLED
THE MICROCOSM.
THE subscribers will commence the publication in
Athens, Georgia, on the first Saturday in Sep
tember, of a paper with the above title.
It will contain Short and Amusing Stories, Moral
Essays, Humorous Sketches, Gems of Poetry, An
ecdotes, Items of General Intelligence, Scraps for the
Ladies, etc., etc , both original and selected. Par
ticular attention will be paid to the selections.
The Microcosm will be published every other Sat
urday, on a small sized sheet —on good paper, and
with small, clear type, and will be furnished at tho
following rates: One copy, Fifty Cents per year:
Eleven copies for Five Dollars, and Twenty-Three
copies for Ten Dollars, invariably in advance.
