Tribute to Mrs. Gen. Vaughn.
The Church and the world have re
cently lost one of the most active and
devout disciples of Jesus Christ.
Mrs. Vaughn, the wife of General J. C.
Vaughn, late of the Confederate Army, |
was the daughter of Colonel Joseph
Boyd of Monroe, Tenn. Her father’s
honse was the house oi ministers of the
Gospel of all denominations. There she
met many clergy of her father’s church,
the Methodist Episcopal, of which she
became a communicant wh en about
twelve years old. Her whole subsequent
course showed that devotion may be
made to Christ at so early an age as that,
on principles capable of sustaining one
through a whole life-time.
