THE SAVANNAH REPUBLICAN~
TERMS REDUCED.
Daily, ii advance $5 00
If not paid in advance, 6 00
Tri-Weekly, in advance 3 00
If not paid in advance, 4 00
Weekly, invariably in advance, 2 00
TO GIVE a still wider circulation to the Re
publican, and thereby to bring Savannah and
its business more prominently before the country,
the Propiietors offer their Daily paper at $5 00"a
year, and their Tri-Weekly at $3 00, to all new
subscribers. To their present subscribers who do
not sooner renew their subscriptions, the paper will
be furnished at the reduced rates on and after the
Ist of January, and those who have paid in ad
vance will be credited accordingly.
YV e propo"e also to issue a Weekly paper, com
mencing early in November, at $2 00 a yeas, to be
1 paid for invariably in advance. To clubs of ten,
the Weekly will be furnished at sls.
We make this reduction in tho price of the Re
publican for three reasons : First, because we de
sire to scatter tho paper over this and the adjoining
States, ia order, as far as we are able, to extend
the relations and increase the business of Savan
nah, believing that whatever promotes the pros
perity of the city cannot fail to ex'.rt a beneficial
effect upon our own fortunes. The groat facilities
wo possess for distributing daily, tri-weekly, and
weekly intelligence, by means of our railroad con
ne tions and steamboat lines, encourage us to be
lieve that the undertaking will be, because it ought
to be, successful.
Secondly, because other papers throughout the
country are reducing the rates of subscription, and
we would place our readers upon a footing as favor
able as that enjoyed by the readers of those pa: ers.
Thirdly, because we shall never bo more able to
make a reduction than at present. We wou d not
boast of our success, yet we beg leave to say that
tho support which our patrons have accoraed us
up to this time, enables us to make this reduction,
and thus to offer some slight acknowledgment for
the:r past favors. We hope they will see in this
fact reason for a continuance of their patronage,
and for such efforts as they may find it convenient
to make in procuring us additional subscribers.
The step we have resolved upon must result in loss,
without a large accession of subscribers.
The growing importance of Savannah, as a com
mercial centre, to the planter, tho merchant, and
indeed toj-ill classes,at least in this State, renders it
unnecessary for us to offer any argumcn- why they
should avail themselves of the means thus offered,
for obtaining the latest and most reliable intelli
gence from all quarters, beth by telegraph and the
mails.
Remittances by mail may be made at the risk
of the Proprietors.

Wherever that great Medicine called
H. G. Farrell's Celebrated Arabian
Liniment, has been introduced, it bas performo
the most extraordinary cures in the annals of medi
cal history—every body who uses it once becom
it warmest friend—they j et only keep it alway
on hand for tho benefit of its timely use in cases
of emergency, but recommend it to all their friends.
It has been be'oro the pub'ic for nearly ten ye .rs,
and yet is daily deve'opir • new virtues; many dis I
asses have been cured by it, for which the pro
prietor had never recommended’t; its magical vir
tues spreads through the land with the speed of :
lightning, and many, very many poor i valids who :
supposed their days on this eai .h wore .ast drawing ;
to a close, have been by a persevering use of this
invaluable Liniment, healed and now rejoice in
the blessings of health, and the enjoyment of this
beautiful world. Read this to believe, and not to
doubt. Inquire of yoar neighbor? whom you know
to have used it, and they will tell you that no med
icine ever discovered "possesses the rail of its extra
ordinary healing pj.veis. Toe licking pains of
rheumatism »n<l neuralgia yield in a few minutes
to its powerfully anodyne properties “ Tho lame
are made to walk.” Old so r os, which have rorrdcred
i the subject a loathsome thing to behold, are heal
ed. The weak an trembling, from deranged stato
of the nerves, by tho use of this Liniment, rejoice
in the recovery oftbeir forme; health and strength.
Many long standing affections ol the liver, lungs
and kidney have yielded to its use after the various
remedies had failed It is very efficacious in cu
ring the diseases of horses and cattle such as swee
} ny, sprains bruises, swellings, cramps, lameftoss,
’ dry shoulder, splint, etc., and if used in the begin
ning never fails to stop the further progress of Ha
tula, poll-evil, r ngbone and spavin.
Look out for Counterfeits. —The public are cau
tionedagainst another counterfeit, which has late
ly made its appearance, called W. B. Farrell’s Ara
bian Liniment, the most dangerous of all the coun
terfeits, because his having the name of Farr el',
many will buy it in good faith, without the knov -
lodge that a counterfeit exists, and they will, per
haps, only discover their error when the spurious
mixture has wrought its evil effects.
The genuine article is manufactured only by H
G. Farrell, sole inventor and proprietor, and whole
sale druggist, No. 17 Main street, Peoria, Illinois*
to whom all applications for Agencies must bo ad
dressed. Be sure you get it with the letters H. G.
before Farrell’s, thus —H. G. FARRELLS—and
his siguature on the wrapper, and all others are

“ With the consent of the Board of Trustees,
I placed the Institute under ihe charge of a lady,
well tried and well know, Miss M. M BUELL, and
invited the Rev. RUFUS M. IVHITE, who had
just et that moment, resign ed the charge of 8L
Johns Church, to accept the l'eetorship of the
Institute. These appointments, together with the
continuance of the Rev. Mr BRAGG, at the In
stitute, should give pa: ents every confidence that
such as t ie school has heretofore been, suer, will it
be hereafter. I commend is most heartily to the
Diocese, assuring it, that the school has never been
in finer condiUon, rnd praying it to use every exer

has been built up at the expense of so much sacti
