WOLFE S SCHIEDAM SCHNAPPS.
TO the editor of the Conositutionalist &( Repub
lic, Augusta, Ga., —Sir : It is due to thejeiti
zens of Augusta, and other portions of your State,
who lavor me with their orders for the SCHIEDAM
AROMATIC SCHNAPPS, that the conclusive ev
idence of its purity and medicinal properties, re
cently published in this city, should be laid before
them. Accordingly I have forwarded for gratui
tous distribution, some thousands of copies of a
treatise, setting forth its peculiarities, in which the
first medical practioners in America, testify over
there own signatures to its purity, and its efficacy
as a specific in a great variety of painful disorders.
As speoimens oi the opinions of physicians, who
have analyzed the article, and who prescribe it in
all cases where a diuretic stimulant is required, I
have given below a few short quotations, from the
medical correspondence contained in the pamphlet.
At a time, when the use of adalterated liquors—
the source of a perpetual thirst, which grows by
what it feeds on—is killing off its tens of thousands
annually, the value of a perfectly inocuous spiritous
stimulant, both as a curative and a beverage is
inappreciable. Much cheaper than brandy, the
Schiedam Schnapps is proved by analysis, to boa
purer article than the most costly brands of that
liquor ; while the superior oil of Juniper, which
forms one ot its components,, gives it a medicinal
character unknown in any other class of Alcohalic.
preparations. It is the only liquor with which I
am acquainted, that can bo used with the full as
surance that it will not create an inordinate ap
petite for strong drinks ; and as a means of quali
fying impure water, as well as protecting the sys
tem against the unwholesome almopheric influences
in low marshy lands and in new settlements, I
know of nothing equal to it. It is also, a most
agreeable cordial, and those who use liquor as a
beverage, will find that it refreshes and tones the
system, instead of creating the headache and nau
sea, which too frequently arise from the use of or
dinary spiritious stimulants. Like everything in
trinsically good, it has been counterfeited ; but
the exposure which I propose to viset upon all
who vend a spurious article, under the name of
Wolfe's Schiedam Aromatic Schnapps, will 1 have
little doubt give the coup de grace to the imposture.
I am respectfully, yours,
UDOLPHO WOLFE,

VALUABLE PLANTATION POR SALE
THE subscriber having removed from the
District, offers for sale his valuable
PLANTATION, situated on the Savannah
River, about ten miles above Hamburg, and in the
fork of said river and Stephens’ Creek, and aboi*»
two miles above the mouth of the Augusta Canal.
Tho T ract contains about Three Thousand, Four
Hundred and Fifty acres, recently surveyed and
platted, about one-third of which is cleared and in
cultivation, tho balance is well wooded and heavi
ly timbered.
This tract of land lies three miles and a quarter
on the aiver above the mouth of Stephen's Creek,
and has a large body of rich alluvial swamp land,
above the reach of ordinary freshets.
The premises are divided into two plantations or
settlements, one at a convenient distance from the
river and tho other on the Stephens' Creek lands,
with Gin Houses, Packing Screws, and the usual
buildings attached to each. .
I prefer to sell the plantation entire ; but being
determined to sell, and with a view to accommo
date, I will, if desired, divide the lands into sec
tions, or lots, to meet the wishes and suit tho con
venience of purchasers.
And if desired, the stock of Horses, Mules, Cat
tle, and the provision crop, will be sold on very fa
vorable terms to the purchaser.
A plat of the premises may me seen at the office
of Robert McDonald, Esq., in Hamburg, and the
premises will be shown by either of tho ovorseow
on the plantation.
Terms will be made easy and accommodating—
and for further particulars, apply to the subscriber,

STATE OF SOUTH CAROLINA, ORANGE
BURG DISTRICT IN EQUITY.
Gabriel Felder and others,}
vs.
P a ul S. Felder, John H. bill for partition.
Felder, administrators, j
' and others.
BY virtue of the decree of the Court of
Equity, there will be sold, before the Court
House in Orangeburg, on the Second Monday in
DECEMBER next, the following Real Estate of
the late John M. Felder, viz:
A PLANTATION, situate below the village of
Orangeburg, on both sides of the Columbia branch
of the South Carolina Railroad, and commonly
known as the “ Coulter Place,” containing Two
Thousand, Five Hundred and Twenty acres, more
or less, bounded by lands of Murray Robinson,
William Barton, D. 11. Baxter, the “Midway
Place,” and the North Edisto River, with about
Eight Hundred acres cleared and under fence; the
balance well timbered pine and swamp land.—
There are negro houses, barns, stables, Ac., on this
place.
ALSO —
One other PLANTATION, adjoining the afore
said “Coulter Place,” called the “ Midway Place,”
containing Two Thousand, One Hundred and Six
ty-one acres, more or less, bounded by lands of
Oscar Champey, Joshua Bossard, the “ Stroman
Tract,” and the North Edisto River. This tract
has about six hundred and fifty acres cf cleared
land under fence, with a good two-story dwelling
house, a new gin house and cotton screw, negro
houses, Ac,; all in excellent repair. The balance
of the land is well timbered pine and swamp land.
—also—
One other PLANTATION, called the “Cot
tage,” and known as the residence of the late Maj.
John M. Felder, containing One Thousand, Six
Hundred and Seventy-seven acres, more or less,
and bounded by the aforesaid " Midway Place,”
by lands of C. Ararat, and others, and the North
Edisto River. This is a well settled plantation,
with every necessary out-building, and a desirable
one for a private residence, there being about
eight hundred acres of cleared land, and in a high
state of cultivation. These three plantations are
well adapted for all agricultural purposes, and
command a large body of pine timber for sawing
and rafting, particularly the “ Coulter Place.”
—ALSO
One other TRACT, called the “ Stroman Tract,”
adjoining the “ Midway” and “ Cottage” tracts,
containing Four Hundred and Twenty-seven acres,
more or less, and bounded bj T lands of Oscar Cham
pey and othors. This tract is altogether uncleared,
and well timberod with pine for sawing, and other
purposes.
It is hero noticed, that ten acres (including the
present family cemetery on the “ Midway Place,”
with a right of way thereto,) will bo reserved for
that puiposein perpetuity to the family of the in
testate.
—also —
One other PLANTATION, called ‘Dean Swamp,’
containing Nine Thousand, Six Hundred and One
acres, more or less, bounded by lands of Dr. J. G.
Guignard, J. C. Fanning, D. V. Phillips, R. P.
Walker, and others, and the South Edisto River,
with seven hundred and fifty acres cleared and un
der fence. This plantation is perhaps as valuable
as any in the State. There are about three hun
dred and fifty acres of creek swamp cleared, which
produced at the last crop an average of 40 bushels
of corn per acre ; with about two thousand acres
of river swamp uncleared, superior to the creek
land, and easily reclaimed; tho balance is finely
timbered with pine for sawing purposes. The
health of the place is unexceptionable. The pre
sent overseer says that since his residence thereon
(whi- h is sixteen years) a case of fever has never
been known to exist. It is in perfect condition as
regards the buildings, Ac., with two vertical saws,
and a never failing stream of water, and its distance
from tho Hamburg Railroad about ten miles.
—also —
A small tract of uncleared LAND, called tho
“ Davis Tract,” containing Two Hundred and
Ninety-three and One half acres, more or less, sit
uated in the fork of the Edisto Paver, and bounded
by lands of B. Corbett, P. A. Fanning, and others.
—also —
Another uncleared TRACT, situate on Snake
Swamp, in the fork of Edisto, containing Nino
Hundred and Seventy-seven acres, more or loss,
bounded by lands of J. J. Salley, Paul S. Felder, E.
llall, and others. This tract is of tho very best
pine timber. All of the aforesaid lands are situa
ted in Orangeburg District.
—also —
The following Tracts of LAND, situate on Black
Creek, in Lexington District, S. C., containing
Seventeen Thousand acres, more or less. The
above tract consists of the following four divisions,
viz: the “Hall Place,” containing three thousand
acres, more or less, bounded by lands of Abram
King, W. Weaver, Joshua Taylor, and others.
This is an excellent mill-seat, with tho aforesaid
Black Creek passing through the tract, which af
fords an abundant supply of water power, and a
mill-dam about two-tbirds completed. There are
about one hundred and fifty acres of cleared land
under lenco, producing fine corn, the balance is
well timbered with choice pine This is also a set
tled place, with dwelling, negro, and other necessa
ry buildings. — also —
One other TRACT, called the “ Dunbar Place,”
alike situated on Black Creek, containing Five
Thousand acres, more or less, and bounded by
lands of Wm. Merritt, S. Altman, J. Dunbar, and
others. This is also a settled place as the above,
with the addition of a saw mill, but the mill has
been recently burned. There are one hundred
and sixty acres of cleared land and under fence ;
sixty of which is good swamp land; tho balance is
well timbered pine land.
—ALSO' —
Ono other TRACT, called the “West Lower
Mill,” al-o situated on Black Creek, with a saw
mill thereon, containing Two Thousand, Five Hun
dred acres, more or less, bounded by lands of the
Messrs. Gantt, Daniel Rambo, and others; Black
Creek being the boundary on the eastern side, a
lino running through the mill-house, giving tho
right of one saw only to the purchaser of tho afore
said tract. This tract has about one hundred acres
of clearod land, thirty-five or forty ol which is
swamp land.
—also—
Ono other TRACT, called the “ Eastern Lower
Mill,” adjoining the “Western,” containing about
Six Thousand, Five Hundred acres, more or less,
and bounded by lands of Daniel Rambo, and oth
ers. The purchaser of this tract is to have the use
of the eastern saw in the aforesaid mill.
The purchasers of the mill-seats upon the Black
Creek tracts, are to take the same upon the follow
ing conditions, viz • tho purchasers of the upper
mill-seats shall have the right of way through the
mill ponds and slides ot the lower mills; and the
purchasers of the lower mill-seats shall be required
to keep waste ways or sluices in good condition to
pass rafts, and furnish from their ponds a good sup
ply of water for that purpose. Each raft shall pay
fifty cents for the privilege of passing and water.
—also —
One other TRACT, called “ Platt’s Springs,” in
Lexington District, on tho Congaree Creek, con
taining Two Thousand, Six Hundred and Soventy
six acres, more or less, bounded by lands of Mrs.
Muller, Jas. S. Guignajd, and others. There is a
good two-story dwelling-house on this tract, with
about seventy-five acres of cleared land; the bal
ance timbered land. This place is so well known
as to preclude any further description.
—ALSO—
One other TRACT, called tho “ Murphy Tract,”
containing One Thousand, One Hundred and Sixty
eight acres, more or less, and bounded by lands of
Dr. George 11. Huntt, Mrs. Muller, and others.
This tract is uncleared and well timbered.
Terms of Sale.—So much cash as will defray
the costa of this suit and the expenses of tho sale,
and the balance on a credit of one, two, three and
four years, with interest from the first day of Janu
ary, 1854, (when possession will be given,) the inter
est payablo annually. The purchasers giving bonds,
with good personal security, and a mortgage of
the premises, to secure tho payment of the pur
chase money. The purchasers to pay for papers.
