WOLFE’S SCHIEDAM SCHNAPPS.
TO the editor of the Constitutionalist Repub
lic. Augusta, Ga.,—Sir: It is due to the citi
zens of Augusta, and other portions of your State,
who favor me with their orders for *he SCHIEDAM
AROMATIC SCHNAPPs. that the conclusive ev
idence of its purity and medicinal properties, re
cently published in this city, should be laid before
them. Accordingly I have forwarded for gratui
tous distribution, some thousands of copies of a
treatise, setting forth its peculiarities, in which the
first medical practioners in America, testify over
there own signatures tbits purity, and its efficacy
as a specific in a great variety of painful disorders.
As specimens of the opinions of physicians, who
have analyzed the article, and who prescribe it in
all cases where a diuretic stimulant is required, I
have given below a few short quotations, from the
medical correspondence contained in the pamphlet.
At a time, when the use of adulterated liquors
the source oi a perpetual thirst, which grows by
what it feed ’ on—is killing off its tens of thousands
annually, the value of a perfectly inocuous spiritous
stimulant, both as a curative and a beverage is
inappreciable. Much cheaper than brandy, the
Schiedam Schnapps is proved by analysis, to be a
purer article than tko most costly brands of that
liquor ; while the superior oil of Juniper, which
forms one ot its components, gives it a medicinal
character unknowu in any other class of Alcohalic
preparations. It is the only liquor with which I
am acquainted, that can be used with the full as
surance that it will not create an inordinate ap
petite for string drinks ; and as a means ot quali-
lying impure water, as well as protecting the sys
tem against the unwholesome almopheric influences
in low marshy lands and in new settlements, I
know oi nothing equal to it. It is also, a moat
agreeable cordial, and those who use liquor as a
beverage, will find that it refreshes and tones the -
system, instead of creating the headacho andnau
sea, which too frequently arise from the use of or
dinary spiritious stimulants. Like'everything in- ■
trinsieaiiy good,, it has been counterfeited ; but
the exposure which I propose to viset upon all j
who vend a spurious article, under tho name of .
Wolfe’s Schiedam Aromatic Schnapps, will I‘have
little doubt give the coup tie grace to the imposture.
I am respectfully, yours,
UDOLPHO WOLFE,

This valuable Medicine, which has become celebrated
for the number of extraordinary cures effected througl
its agency, has induced the proprietors, at the urgent
request of their friends, to offer it to the public, which
they do with the utmost confidence in its virtues! and
wonderful curative properties. The following certifi
cates, selected from a large number, are. however,
stronger testimony than the mere word of the propri
etors ; and are all from gentlemen well known in their
localities, and of the highest respectability, many ot
them now residing in the city of ltichmoud, Virginia.
1. Boyden, Esq., of the Exchange Hotel. Richmond
known everywhere, says he has seen the Medicine
called Carter's Spanish Mixture administered in over a
hundred cases, in nearly all the diseases for which it is
recommended, with the most astonishingly good re
suits. He says it is the most extraordinary Medicint
he has overseen.
Ague and Fever.— Great Cure. —l hereby certify,
that for three years I had Ague and Fever of the most
violent description. I had several Physicians, took
large quantities of Quinine, Mercury, and I believe all
the Tonics advertised, but all without any permanent
relief. At last I tried Carter s Spanish Mixture, two
bottles of which effectually cured me. and I am happy
to say I have had neither Chillsor Fevers since. I con
sider it the best Tonic in the world, and the only medi
cine that ever reached my case.
JOHN LONG DEN
Beaver Dam. near Richmond, Va.
C. B. Luck, Esq., now in the city of Richmond, and
for many ye -rs in the Post Office, has such confidence in
the astonishing efficacy of Carter's Spanish Mixture,
that he has bought upwards of 50 bottles, which he ha?
given away to the afflicted. Mr. Luck says he has never
known it to fail when taken according to direciions.
Dr. Mingk. a practising Physician, and formerly' ot
the City Hotel, in the city of Richmond, says he has
witnessed in a number of instances the effects of Car
ter's Spanish Mixture, which were most truly surprising.
He says in a case of Consumption, dependent on the
Liver, the good effects were wonderful indeed.
Samuel M. Drinker, of the firm of Drinker & Mor
ris, Richmond, was cured of Liver complaint of eight
years standing, by the use of two bottiesuof Carter s
panish Mixture.
Great 0F scrofula—The Editors of the
Richmond Republican had a servant employed in their
press room, cured of violent Scrofula, combined with
Khematism, which entirely disabled him from work
Two bottles of Carter's Spanish Mixture made a per
fect cure of him, and the Editors, in a public notice,
say they “ cheerfully recommend it to all who are af
flicted with any disease of the blood.’’
Still another cure of Scrofula.— l had a very
valuable boy cured of Scrofula by'Carter's Spanish Mix
