GEORGIA HYDRAULIC CEMENT.
THE following are among the many testimoni
als received in favor of the above Cement. A
fresh lot just received and for sale by
GEO. W. LEWiS, No. 1 Warren Block.
Superintendawt’s Ofvice C. R. R.,
Savannah, May 3, 1853.
Dear Sir: I have recently made a trial of your
Cement, and am happy to say that it proved very
satisfactory. W. M. WADLEY.
Charleston, April 19, 1854.
We, the undersigned, bricklayers and plasterers
of this city, having used the Georgia Hydraulic
Cement, prepared at Kingston, Georgia, are satis
fied that the same is a good article, and recom
mend it as such. SEPTIMUS SANDERS,
J. B. LUCAS,
W. H. GRUVED.
New Custom House,
Charleston, S. 0., April 12,1864.
Dear Sir: At your request I have to state that a
bag of Hydraulic Cement, sent to me by Messrs
Matheson & Simons, made by Rev. W. Howard,
rom his Quarry in Georgia, has been by me sub
ected to my ordinary test. I have found it to set
sapiclly under water, and make an excellent Hy
draulic mortar. The bag of Cement sent me by
Mr. Simons has been made into moitir and laid up
into brick masonry a few days ago. It is now
quite hard, and shows all the indications of a good
Cement. Very respectfully,yourobedient servant,
EDW. B WHITE,
Suporintendant and Architect.
Messrs. Maclean A Co.—Gentlemen: I have
examined and tested the Hydraulic Cement you
have iu store, from Mr. Howard, Cass county, Ga.,
and find it compares favorably with the best New
York Cement. Tho lightness of color is, 1 think,
rather an advantage than otherwise. I cheerfully
recommend this Cement to Engineers, builders and
others, as admirably adapted to bui ding purposes
in damp and wet locations, and all localities iu
which Ilyraulic Cement is to be used.
Very respectfully, JOHN PHILIPS,
iel Civil and Mechanical Engineer.

r a UIIS dolicious article combines so many meri-
JL torious qualities, that it has now become a
standard favorite with the citizens of New York,
Philadelphia and Baltimore. Dentists prescribe it
in their practice most successfully, and from every
source the most flattering laudations are awarded
it.
Inflamed and bleeding gums are immediately
benefitted by its use ; its action upon thorn is mild,
soothing and effective. It cleanses the teeth* so
thoroughly that they are mado to rival pearl in
whiteness, and diffuses through tho mouth such a
delightful freshness, that the breath is rendered ex
quisitely sweet. It disinfects all those impurities
which tend to produce decay, and, as a consequence,
when these are removed, the teeth must always re
main sound.

ROGER’S LIVERWORT AND TAR.
FOR the complete cure of Coughs, Colds, Influenza,
Asthma, Bronchitis, Spitting of Blood, and all oth
er Lung Complaints tending to Consumption.
This preparation is getting into use all over our coun- 1
try. The numerous letters we receive from our vari- 1
ous agents, informing us of cures effected in the : r im
mediate neighborhoods, warrant us in saying it is one
of the best, if not the very best, Cough Medicine now
before the public. It almost invariably relieves, and
not unfrequently cures the very worse cases When all j
other Cough preparations have failed, this has relieved '
the as Druggists, dealers in Medicines, and (
Physicians can testify. Ask the Agent in your nearest
town, what has t een his experience of the effects of
this medicine. If he has been selling it for any length 1
of time he will tell you
IT IS THE BE3T MEDICINE EXTANT. 1
Below' w r e give a few extracts from letters we have
received lately, regarding the virtues Os this medicine.
Dr. S. S. Oslin, of Knoxville. Ga., says : “ I have been
using your Liverwort and Tar very extensively in my
practice for three years past, aud it is with pleasure I
state mybeMef in its superiority over all other articles
with which I am acquainted, for which it is recom
mended.”
Messrs Fitzgerald & Benners, writing Lorn Waynes
ville, N. C., says : “ The Liverw'ort and Tar is becoming ‘
daily more popular in this Country, and we think just- <
ly so. All who have tried it speak in commendable (
terms of it, and say it is very beneficial in alleviating ]
the complaints for which it is recommended.”
Our Agent in Pickens District, S. C., Mr. S. R. McFall, .
assures us “ that he uses it with great benefit in his own :
family, and recommends it to his neighbors.” He gives *
an instance of a Nogro woman, in his vicinity, who had
been suffering with disease of the Lungs for years, at
tended with severe Cough, who was relieved by the
Liverwort and Tar.
Such are the good reports W'e hear of this Medicine
from all parts of the ,*outh. For a report of the sur
prising cures it has performed in the Western and c
Northern and Eastern States, we would invite the suf ]
ering patient to read the pamphlet which accompanies
each bottle. To all, we say, have hope, have hope! 1
TRY THE MEDICINE!! —Be Warned in Season ! !
And neglect not that Cough which is daily weakening ,
your constitution, irritating your Throat and Lungs, <•
and inviting on that dread disease. Consumption, when j
so soothing and healing a Remedy can be obtained as 1

genuine article is signed Andrew Rooers, on the en
