ROGER S LIVERWORT AND TAR.
FOR the complete cure of Coughs, Colds, Influenza,
Asthma. Bronchitis,Spitting of Blood, and all oth
er Lung Complaints tending to Consumption.
This preparation is getting into use all overour coun
try. The numerous letters we receive from our vari
ous agents, informing us of cures effected in their im
mediate neighborhoods, warrant us in saying it is one
of the best, if not the very best. Cough Medicine now
before the public. It almost invariably relieves, and
j not unfrequently cures the very worse cases When all
I other Cough preparations have* failed, this has relieved
the patient, as Druggists, dealers in Medicines, and
Physicians can testify. Ask the Agent in vour nearest
town, what has been his experience of the effects of
this medicine. If he has been selling it for anv length
of time he will tell you
IT IS THE BEST MEDICINE EXTANT.
Below we give a few extracts from letters we have
received lately, regarding the virtues of this medicine.
Dr. S. S. Oslin, of Knoxville, Ga., says: “ I have been
using your Liverwort aud Tar very extensively in my
practice for three years past, and it is with pleasure I
state my belief in its superiority over all other articles
with which I am acquainted, for which it is recom
mended.”
Messrs Fitzgerald & BeDners, writing fiom Waynes
ville, N. C., says : “ The Liverwort and Tar is becoming
daily more popular in this Country, and we think just
ly so. All who have tried it speak in commendable
terms of it, and say it is very beneficial in alleviating
the complaints for which it is recommended.”
Our Agent in Pickens District, S. C., Mr. S. R. McFall,
assures us “ that he uses it with great benefit in his own
family, and recommends it to his neighbors.” He gives
an instance of a Nogro woman, in his vicinity, who had
been suffering with disease of the Lungs for years, at
tended with severe Cough, who was relieved by the
Liverwort and Tar.
Such are the good reports we hear of this Medicine
from all P ai 'ts of the Aouth. For a report of the sur
prising cures it has performed in the Western and
Northern and Eastern States, we would invite the suf
ering patient to read the pamphlet which acaompanies
each bottle. To all, we say. have hope, have hope 1

delicious article combines so many meri
1. torious qualities, that it has now become a
standard favorite with the citizens of New York,
Philadelphia and Baltimore. Dentists prescribe it
in their practice most successfully, and from every
source the most flattering laudations are awarded
it-
Inflamed and bleeding gums are immediately
benetitted by its use ; its action upon them is mild,
soothing and effective. It cleanses the teeth so
thoroughly that they are made to rival pearl in
whitsDess, and diffuses through the mouth such a
delightful freshness, that the breath is rendered ex
quisitely sweet. It disinfects all those impurities
which tend to produce decay, and, as a consequence,
when these are removed, the teeth must always re
main sound.

HOBENSACK S LIVER PILLS.
NO part of the system is more liable to disease

should the left lobe be affected, the pain is general
ly in the left shoulder, with a short dry cough, the

the use of Hobensack's Liver Pills, as they act di

The symptoms of Dyspepsia, and its various dis
eases are dizziness in the head, heartburn, oppres
sion after eating meals, sourness arising from the

SINGER'S SEWING MACHINES,
HK’H are the only Sewing Machines of any
utility which can be used without making 1
the owner liable to a suit for infringement of pa
tented privileges are still sold at reasonable prterte
and with unquestioned right .
Having terminated our legal controversy with
Elias Howe, Jr., and procured his full license to use
his invention, there is not the slightest claim that
our machines infringe any other patent.
The right to use the Machines which we have
soldj and shall hereafter sell, is unquestionable.
We own ten distinct patents on Sewing Machines,
covering all the nice points of the invention, and
all the Machines of other manufacturers infringe
one or more of them. Our patent securing the
spring whereby the cloth, do., is held to the feed
ing apparatus by a yielding pressure, is infringed
by all the Machines now offered in the market.
Those who buy the inferior and piratical machines,
are hereby distinctly apprised that we shall com
pel them to pay us for the privilege of using them.
’ e rights will henceforth be rigidly enforced,
immense superiority of Singer s Sewing
Machines has been completely established. They
are of universal application—the same Machine
doing all kinds of work, and doing it perfectly,
lney are not only superior in contrivance, but un
equalled in mechanical finish. They perform all
work required, and continue to de it without get
ting out of order. W e desiro to call attention par
ticularly to our new Machines to sow with a single
thread, which, by ample trials, have been proved
superior to all others sos stiching linen and alivery
thin fabrics—also for sewing leather, either with a
waxed thread or silk—and for quilting linings. W r e
are also prepared 1o exhibit and sell Embroidering
Machines, producing an entirely new and very
boautiful result. Machines of extra size, both
shuttle and single thread, may be had for a small
difference in price. Those are found to be very
popular. Machines for hat binding, stitching |ar
pet-bag handlos, and any other peculiar work, will
bo supplied at short notice.

STAMPEDE MIXTURE,
For the Fever and Ague, and Chagres Fever.
THE PROPRIETOR ofthis Medicine will state,
without hesitation or fear of contradiction,
that the Stampede Mixture has cured more per
sons, where it has been introduced, than any other
medicine in use for the above diseases. This med
icine has neither Arsenic or quinine in its compo
sition, all of the ingredients are of a perfectly
healthy character and highly stimulating and in
vigorating in their tendency. Persons while using
this medicine will not be affected by espoeore ta
water or a damp atmosphere no more than when ia
their usual health. Planters in sections of the
country where the Ague prevails, will do well to
adopt this medicine, as the patient is not obliged
to lay by while under treatment, and they may be
assured of a speedy i ire. The Proprietor coold
introduce thousands of certificates from those of
the highest respectability, but prefers saying to the
