Philadelphia. Invalids are apprised that Dr. Ivinkelin confines his practice to a particular branch of medicine, which en gages his undivided attention. He cautions the unfor tunate against the abuse of mercury ; thousands are annually mercurialized out of life. Recent affections are promptly extinguished. Twenty- years of experience in the treatment of a class of diseases hitherto neglected and imperfectly un derstood, lias em-bl d Dr. Kinketin, (author of a work o.r Self Preservation.) tp prove that nine tenths of ihe causes of faervous debility, local and constitutional weakness, mental and physical suffering, are traceable to certain habits, forming ‘he most secret yet deadly and fatal springs of domestic misery and premature mortality. Take Particular Notice. —There is an evil habit some times indulged in by boys, in solitude, oftep growing up with them to manhood, and which, if not reformed in due time, not only begets serious oostacles to matri monial happiness, but gives rise to a series of protract ted, insidious, and devastating affections. Few of those who give way to this pernicious practice are aware of the consequences, until they find the nervous system shattered, ;eel strange and unaccountable feelings, and vague fears in the mind. The unfortunate thus affected becomes feeble, is una ble to labor with accustomed vigor or to apply his mind to study ; his step is tardy and weak, he is dull, irresolute, and engages in his sport with leas energy than usual. If he emancipate himself before the practice has done its worst, and enter matrimony, his marriage is unfruitful, and his sense tells him that this is cau-ed by his early follies. These are considerations which should awaken the attention of those similarly situated, Marriage requires the fulfilment of several condi tions, in order that it may be really the cause of mutu al happiness. Could the veil vi hic’n covers the origin of domestic wretchedness he ralsx d, and ts true source in every instance disclosed—in how many- could it be traced to physical disqualifications anu their attendant disappointments! Apply then while it is yet time, in order to have y-our unstrung and relaxed organization rebraced, revivified and strengthened. Remember, he who places himself under Dr. Kinke lin's treatment may religiously confide in his honor as a gentleman and ely upon the assurance, that the se cret- of Dr. K.’s patients will never be disclosed. READ THE FOLLOWING CERTIFCATE. Tallapoosa County. Ala., Jan. 2,1862. Dear Sir :—l sond you this to certify to you that your Extract of Yellow Dock and Sarsaparilla, has per formed one if Ihe most wonderful Cures on me that has ever been effected on man. I have been afflicted for forty years with eruptions on my legs and feet; in 1848 they got so bad that I had to go on crutches, and in 1849 1 had one leg amputated above the knee. In about nine months after my other leg broke out in large eating and running sores from my knee to my foot, and discharged a great deal of of fensive matter. My groin also broke out in large biles. Which dischaiged much offensive matter, and at the same time my left hand broke out in large running sores nearly to my elbow. The misery that 1 have suffered for the last two years I cannot describe to you. I was in such agony that I neverrested day or night. In October last my son brought me one of your bot tle wrappers; I read it. and found record of some won derful cures performed by your " Extract of Yellow i oek and Sarsaparilla.” I sent and got two bottles of it, and commenced taking it. In two weeks, to my great astonishment, my sores all became easy, and I couid sleep all night, a thing I had not done for two years. When I had taken six bottles, my sores had enarly all healed. My sores got well as if by enchant ment. I have now used, in all, eight bottles of your Extract of Yellow Dock and Sarsaparilla,” and I now ousider myself well. I entreat all of the afflicted to try this Medicine, for believe it will cure any known disease in the world hay asideall prejudice and just try if. and proc aim its real worth to suffering mankind, and entpeat them to take it, for it will curethem. My case is well known in a large portioh of South Carolina, Georgia and Alabama, and if any should doubt ilie above cure, I invite them to call on me, and I will show them the scars. I can be found in Tallapoosa County, Alabama, one mile from S toe’s Ferry. RJENAJATI HUGHES. The Yellow Dock and Sarsaparilla is peculiarly adap ted for females of del cato health, resulting from ir regularities of menstrual discharges, and other diseases peculiar to their sex. The proprietor has in his posses sion a great number of certificates of cures performed of the above description. FOR ALL THE PURPOSES OF A FAMILY PHYSIC. There has long existed a public demand for at effective purgative pill which could be relied on ai sure and perfectly safe in its operation. This hai been prepared to meet that demand, and an exten sive trial of its virtues has conclusively shown witl what success it accomplishes the purpose designed It is easy to make a physical pill, but not easy t< make the best of all pills —one which should have none of the objections, but all the advantages, of every other. This has been attempted here, anc with what success we would respectfully submit tc the public decision. It has been unfortunate foi the patient hitherto that almost every purgativ< medicine is acrimonious and irritating to the bow els. This is not. Many of them produce so much griping pain and revulsion in the system as to mor< than counterbalance the good to be derived from them. These pills produce no irritation or pain unless it arise from a previously existing obstruc tion or derangement in the bowels. Being purely vegetable, no harm can arise from their use in any quantity ; but it is better that any medicine shoulc be taken judiciously. Minute directions for theii use in the several diseases to which they are ap plieable are given on the box. Among the com plaints which have been speedily cured by them, w« may mention Liver Complaint, in its various form* of Jaundice, Indigestion, Languor and Loss of Ap petite, Listlessness, Irritability, Bilious Headache Bilious Fever, Fever and Ague, Pain in the Side and Loins; for, in truth, all these are but the con sequence of diseased action in the liver. As an aperient, thev afford prompt and sure relief in Cos tiveness, Piles, Colic, Dysentery, Humors, Scrof ula and Scurvy, Colds with soreness of the body, Ulcers and impurity of the blood; in short, any and every case where a purgative is required. They have also produced some singularly suc cessful cures in Rheumatism, Gout, Dropsy, Gravei Erysipelas, Palpitation of the Heart, Pains in the Back, Stomach, and Side. They should be freely taken in the spring of the year, to purify the hlooo and prepare the system for the change of seasons. An occasional dose stimulates the stomach anc bowels into healthy action, and restores the appe tite and vigor. They purify the blood, and, bv then stimulant action on the circulatory system, reno vate the strength of 0e body, and restore the wasted or diseased energies of the whole'organism. Hence an occasional dose is advantageous, even though no serious derangement exists; but un necessary dosing should never he carried too far, as every purgative medicine reduces the strength, when taken to excess. The thousand cases in which a physic is required cannot be enumerated here. bul they suggest themselves to the reason of every body; and it is confidently believed, this pih nri answer a better purpose than any thing which hut hitherto been available to mankind. When then virtues are once known, the public will no longei doubt what remedy to employ when in need of f cathartic medicine. Being sugar-wrapped they art pleasant to take, and being purely vegetable, nt harm can arise from their use in any quantil v. For minute directions see wrapper on the Box,** PREPARED BY JAMES C. This worm is usually found in the small intes tines, and is thewormmost common to children, yet it is not entirely confined to them, as adults have frequently been known to suffer with them.
