HOBENSACK'S LIVER PILLS.
NO part of the system is more liable to disease
than the Liver, it being supplied with numer
ous blood vessels and nerves, and if diseased, the
blood of eourso flowing through all parts of the
ody produces Liver Complaints, Jaundice, Bilious
Affections, Dyspepsia, Ac.
LIVER COMPLAINT
Is attended with chills, succeeded by fever, severe
pains in the region of the Liver, vomiting, bitter
taste, yellow furred tongue, pulse full and bound
ing, the pain in the side increased by pressure,
should the left lobe be affected, the pain is general
ly in the left shoulder, with a short dry cough, the
skin becoming of a sallow appearance, and the
stools clay colored. This disease can be cured by
the use of Hobcnsaek's Liver Pills, as they act di
rectly upon the seat of the disease, and then ope
rating upon the bowels they expel all the corrupt
and vitiated matter from the system.
DYSPEPSIA.
The symptoms of Dyspepsia, and its various dis
eases aro dizziness in the head, heartburn, oppres
sion after eating meals, sourness arising from the
stomach. Ac., and sometimes general languor of
the whole body, from this it will be seen that the
diseaso owes its origin to a disorganized state of
the Live! and Stomach. Hobensack’s Liver Pills
is the very medicine to effect a permanent and last
ing cure, as they act by changing the certain mor
bid actions of the system into a healthy action,
and rendering the blood pure and healthy.
TO FEMALES.
You will find those Pills an invaluable medioine
in many complaints to which you are subject. In
obstructions, either total or partial, they have been
found of inestimable benefit in restoring and puri
fying the blood and other fluids so as to cure all
complaints which may arise from female irregular
ties, as headache, dimness of sight, pain in the
side, back, Ac. These Pills are the only safe and
effectual remedy to cure tho following complain ts
(lout, Nervousness, Melancholy, Sick Headache
Giddiness, Rheumatism, distressing Dreams, Dim
ness of Sight, or in fact any of tho diseases that
arise from affections of the Liver, impurity of the
Blood; or constipation of the Bowols.
MEDICAL EVIDENCE.
We, the undersignod Physicians, having had the
receipt of their manufacture submitted to us for
inspection, say, that tho ingredients of which they
are composed makes them tho best Pill in use for
all diseases of tho Liver, Impurities ofthe Blood, Ac.

I We give below our usual Table of the amount of Cotton consumed the past
year in the States South aud West of Virginia, and not included in the Receipts at
the Ports. We have increased the Estimate, as a whole, from the year previous, but
give it only for what it purports to be, an Estimate , which we believe approximates
correctness. Thus—

To which, if we add, (for the past year.) the Stocks in the interior Towns, See
the quantity burnt in the interior, and that lost on its way to market, to the Crop
as giveu above, received at the Shipping Ports, the aggregate will show very nearly
the amount raised in the United States the past season—say, in round numbers, 3,-
000,000 hales, against 3,370,000 for the year 1852-3—3,100,000 for the year 1851-2,
aud 2,450,000 for the year before.
During the year just closed, there was received here 2258 bales byway of the
New York Sc Erie Railroad, 1182 by the New York Sc Erie Canal, 7490 at Baltimore,
and 1500 at Philadelphia from the West, nearly if not quite all of which, it is be
lieved, came from Tennessee, and we have accordingly added it in another place to
the Crop of the Country.
The quantity of new Cotton received at the Shipping Ports to the Ist instant’
amounted to 1390 bales, against 716 bales last year, and 5125 the year before.
The Shipments given in this Statement from Texas, are those by sea only.
It may be well to that the preceding Statement of the Crop, is that of
the United States as a whole, hud does not purport to give the Crops of the States,
though the Shipments, Stocks, &c. are necessarily arranged under the different lead
ing Shipping Ports or States, as the case may be. It is well known, that, by the ex
tension of Railroads and other means of transit, oftentimes large quantities of Cot
ton grown in one State are received at, and shipped from, the Sea Ports of another,
and this, to a greater or less extent, is the case with every Cotton growing State in
the Union.

STAMPEDE MIXTURE, *j|
For the Fever and Ague and Chagres Fever. YJ
THE PROPRIETOR of this Medicine will state,
without hesitation or fear of contradiction,
that the Stampede Mixture has cured more per- -
sons, where it has been introduced, than any other
medicine in use for the above d'seases. This med
icine has neither Arsenic or quinine in its compo
sition, all of the ingredients aro of a perfectly
healthy character and highly stimulating and in
vigorating in their tendency. Persons while using
this medicine will not bo affected by exposore te
water or a damp atmosphere no more than when in
their usual health. Planters in sections of tha
country where the Ague prevails, will do well to
adopt this medicine, as the patient is not obliged
to lay by while under .reatment, and they may be
assured of a speedy ire. The Proprietor could,
introduce thousands of certificates from those of
the highest respectability, but prefers saying to the
