CURED IN FORTY DAYS.
THE celebrated and invaluable Forty Days Diet
Drink, reduced to a palatable Syrup for puri
fying the Blood and eradicating disease. This Sy
rup is recommonded for all Scrofulous Affections,
Liver complaint. Ulcers, Rheumatism, Pimples,
Dyspepsia, Loss of Appetite, General Debility, and
all diseases arising from an impure state of the
Blood.
The unequalled medical qualities of this purify
ing Drink has been so well tested in this City and
in the State of Georgia and by the many
cures it has periormed, and there are so many liv
ing to testify and to recommend it, that it requires
no further comments from the Pro; rietors, having
in all casos given universal satisfaction. The new
form under which it is now offered to the public,
makes it so much the more valuable. The propor
tions are exactly the same, the quantity to be taken
much less, and by lar more palatable, though con
taining the same medical qualities. One course of
10 bottles of the Syrup is equal in strength to 40
bottles of the Diet Drink.
We feel that in offering it to the public, it will
be the means of alleviating much distress ond suf
fering, and will restore the afflicted to health and
happiness.
A liberal discount will be made to Druggist and
Physicians. None genuine without the signature
of the Proprietors on the labels of each bottle.

ARE YOU SICK? "
BEWARE OE IMITATIONS.
ASK for HAMPTON'S VEGETABLE TINCTURE.
The many cures made by this pleasant and safe
remedy may induce counterfeiting.
A medicine must have merit, and great merit too, to
stand the test of public opinion. No art of puffing can
galvanize a worthless article, so as to keep it up as a
good medicine, if it be not really so.
A good medicine will live, become popular, and ex
tend its sales year after year, in spite of opposition.
The people readily find out its virtues, and the fame of
them passes from mouth to mouth with more rapidity
than newspapers can spread it. A living witness testi
fying to the cure a medicine has made for him, is of
far more service than any newspaper advertising.
In proof of what we say above, we refer you to
HAMPTON’S VEGETABLE TINCTURE, and its effects.

AFFLICTED RRAD!
Philadelphia medical house—Established 20
years ago by Dr. Kinkelin, corner of Third and
Union Streets, between Spruce and Pine, Philadelphia.
Invalids are apprised that Dr. Kinkelio*confines his
practice to a particular branch of medicine, which en
gages his undivided attention. He cautions the unfor
tunate against the abuse of mercury ; thousands are
annually mercurialized out of life. Recent affections
are promptly extinguished.
Twenty years of experience in the treatment of a
class of diseases hitherto neglected and imperfectly un
derstood, has enabled Dr. Kinkelin, (author of a work
on Self Preservation,) to prove that nine tenths of the
causes of nervous debility, local and constitutional
weakness, mental and physical suffering, are traceable
to certain habits, forming the most secret yet deadly
and fatal springs of domestic misery and premature
mortality.
Take Particular Notice. —There is an evil habit some
times indulged in by boys, in solitude, often growing
up with them to manhood, and which, if not reformed
in due time, not only begets serious oostacles to matri
monial happiness, but gives rise to a series of protract
ted, insidious. and devastating affections. Few of those
who give way to this pernicious practice are aware of
the consequences, until they find the nervous system
shattered, feel strange and unaccountable feelings, and
vague fears in the mind.
The unfortunate thus affected becomes feeble, is una
ble to labor with accustomed vigor, or to apply his
mind to study ; his step is tardy and weak, ho is dull,
irresolute, and engages in his sport with less energy

DR. MORSE’S INVIGORATING CORDIAL
A PHENOMENON IN MEDICINE
Health Restored and Life Lengthened
BY
Dr. Morse's Invigorating Elixir or Cordial,
AT FIRST the properties attributed to Professor
Morse's Invigorating Elixir or Cordial were deem
ed fabulous. The public often deceived could not be
lieve the simple and sublime truths announced by the
discoverer. But facts, undeniable facts, attested by
witnesses of the highest class and character, are now
triumphing over all doubts. Incredulity is overthrown
by a mass of testimony which is perfectly irresistible,
.The Elixir remedies, in all cases, the deplorable evils
arising from a misuse or abuse of the varieus organs
which make up the wonderful machine called rp»n. Jt
restores to full vigor every delicate functioh connected
with that mysterious compound agency of matter and
mind, necessary to the re-production ofhumai life.—
To persons of feeble muscular frame, or deficient in vi
tal power, it is recommended as the only means of
communicating that energy which is necessary o the
proper employment of all the natural appetites, e well
as the higher mental attributes. Its beneficial ffeets
are not confined to either sex or to any age. The fee
ble girl, the ailing wife, the listless, enervated ycutb.
the overworn man of business, the victim of nervous
depression, the individual suffering from general debili- i
ty, or from the weakness of a single organ, will find in>=
mediate and permanent relief from the use of tbis in-,
comparable renovator. To those who have predispcsA
tion to paralysis, it will prove a complete and urfail vg
safeguard against that terrible malady. There are
many, perhaps, who have so trifled with their co»stitc
tions, that they think themselves beyond thssreacb or
medicine. Let not even these despair. The Flix'j
deals with disease as it exists, without reference c
causes, arid will not only remove the disorder itseh
RE BUILD THE BROKEN CONSTITUTION
The derangement,of the system, leading to nervous
diseases, and the forms ot nervous disease itself, are so
numerous that it would require a column to enumerate
the maladies for which this preparation is a specific. >
few, however, may be vis:—neuralgia, e
dolereaux, headache, incipient paralysis, hysteria, pal
pitation of the heart, spinal affections, muscular debih
ty, tremors, flatulency, a pricking sensation m the flesh
numbness, mental depression, weakness of the will, in
disposition to move, faintness after exercise, broken
sleep and terrifying dreams, inability to remain in one
place or position, weakness of the procreative organs,
sexual incompetency, melancholy, monomania, fluor
albus, sinking at the stomach, female irregularities* a
chronic tendency to miscarriage, emaciation, and all
complaints growing out of a free indulgence of the pas
sions, and all barreness that does not proceed from or
ganic causes, beyond the reach of medicine.
Whenever the organs to be acted upon are free from
malformation or stnctural diseases, it is averred that
MORSE’S INVIGORATING ELIXIR
will re-place weakness with strength, incapacity with
efficiency, irregularity with uniform and natural ac
tivity, and this not only without hazard or re-action,
but with a happy effect on the general organization.—
Bear in mind that all maladies, wherever they begin,
finish with the nervous system, and that the paraliza
tion of the nerve of motion and sensation is physical
death. Bear in mind, also, that for every kind of ner
vous disease the Elixir Cordial is the only reliable pre
paration known.
CURE OF NERVOUS DISEASES.
No language can convey an adequate idea of the im
mediate, and almost miraculous change w'hich it occa
sions in the diseased, debilitated and shattered nervous
system, whether broken down by excess, weak by na
ture, or impaired by sickness—the unstrung or relaxed
organization is at once braced, re-vivified and built up.
The mental and physical symptoms of nervous disease
vanish together under its influence. Nor-is the effect
temporary, on the contrary the relief is permanent—
for the Cordial properties of the medicine reach the
constitution itself, and restores it to its normal condi
tion. .LOSS OF MEMORY,
Confusion, giddiness, rush of blood to the head, mel
ancholy, debility, histeria, -wretchedness, thoughts o
self-destruction, fear of insanity, dyspepsia, genera,
prostration, irritability, nervousness, inability to sleep!
diseases incident to females, decay of the propagating
functions, hysteria, monomania, vague terrors, palpita
tion of the heart, impotency, constipation, &c.,from
whatever cause arising.it is, if there any reliance to
be placed on human testimony, is absolutely infallible
A GREAT MEDICINE FOR FEMALES.
The unparalleled effects of this gie«.t restorative, in
all complaints incident to females, mark a new era in
the annals of medicine. Thousands of stimulants have
been invented—thousands of invigorants concocted—
all purporting to be specifiedinthe various diseases and
derangements, to which the delicate formation of wo
man render her liable.
EVERY WOMAN OF SENSE
who suffers from weakness, derangement, nervousness,
tremors, pains in the back, or any other disorder, whe
ther peculiar to her sex, or common in both sexes r to
give the Invigorating Cordial a trial.
MARRIED PERSONS
or others, will find this Cordial, after they have used a
bottle or two, a thorough regenerator of the system.
In all directions are to be found the happy parents of
healthy offspring, who would no* have been so but for
this extraordinary preparation. And it is equally po
tent for the many diseases for which it is recommended.
Thousands of young men have been restored by using
it, and not in a single instance has it failed to benefit
them.
PERSONS OF PALE COMPLEXION,
of.consumptive habits, are restored by the use of a
bottle or two to bloom and vigor, changing the skin
from a pele, yellow, .sickly color, to a beautiful florid
complexion. ?
TO TIIE MISGUIDED.
These are some of the sad and melancholy effects
produced by early habits of youth, viz: weakness of
the back and limbs, pains in the head, dimness of the
sight, loss of muscular power, palpitation of the heart*
dyspepsia, nervous irritability, derangement of the di
gestive functions, general debility, symptoms of con
sumption, &c.
Mentally, the fearful effects on the mind are much
to be dreaded. Loss of memory, confusion of ideas,
depression of spirits, evil forebodings, aversion to so
ciety, self distrust, love of solitude, timidity, &c., ear
some of the evilsproduced. All thus afflicted,
BEFORE CONTEMPLATING MAKIUAGE,
should reflect that a sound mind and body are the most
necessary requisites to promote connubial happiness,
indeed, without these, the journey through life be
comes a weary pilgrimage—the prospect hourly dark
ens the view ; the mind becomes shadowed with despair
and filled with melancholy reflection that the happi
ness of annother becomes blighted with your own.

ROGER'S LIVERWORT AND TAR.
FOR the complete cure of Coughs, Colds, Influenza,
Asthma, Bronchitis, Spitting of Blood, and all oth
er Lung Complaints tending to Consumption.
This preparation is getting into use all over our coun
try. The numerous letters we receive from our vari
ous agents, informing ns of cures effected in their im
mediate neighborhoods, warrant us in saying it is one
of the best, if not the very best, Cough Medicine now
before the public. It almost invariably relieves, and
not unfrequently cures, the very worse cases When all
other Cough preparations have failed, this has relieved
the patient, as Druggists, dealers in Medicines, and
Physicians can testify. Ask the Agent in your nearest
town, what has been his experience of the effects of
this medicine. If he has hpen selling it for any length
of time he will tell you
IT IS THE BEST MEDICINE EXTANT.
Below we give a few extracts from letters we have
received lately, regarding the virtues of this medicine.
Dr. S. S. Olin, of Knoxville, Ga., says: “ I have been
using your Liverwort and Tar very extensively in my
practice for three years past, and if is with pleasure I
state my belief in its superiority over all other articles
with which I am acquainted, for which it is recom
mended.”
Messrs Fitzgerald A Benners, writing fiom Waynes
ville, N C , says : “ The Liverwort and Tar is becoming
daily more popular in this Country, and we think just
ly so. All who have tried it speak in commendable
terms of it, and say it is very beneficial in alleviating
the for which it is recommended.”
Our Agent in Pickens District, S. C., Mr. S. R. McFall,
assures us “that he usesit with great benefit in hisown
family, and recommends it to his neighbors.” lie gives
an instance of a Nogro woman, in his vicinity, who had
been suffering with disease or the Lungs for years, at
tended with severe Cough, who was relieved by the
Liverwort and Tar.
Such are the good reports we hear of this Medicine
from all parts of the South. For a report of the sur
prising cures it has performed in the Western and
Northern and Eastern States, we would invite the suf
ering patient to read the pamphlet which aeoompanies
each bottle. To all, we say, have hope, have hope!

FOR ALL THE PURPOSES OF A
FAMILY PHASIC.
There has long existed a public demand for ar
effective purgative pill which could be relied on at
sure and perfectly safe in its operation. This hat
been prepared to meet, that demand, and an exten
sire trial of its virtues has conclusively shown witl
what success it accomplishes the purpose designed
It is easy to make a physical pill, but not .easy t«
make the best of all pills one which should hav<
none of the objections, but all the advantage# oi
every other. This has been attempted’ here, ant
with what success we would respectfully submit t<
the public decision. It has been unfortunate foi
the patient hitherto that almost every pwrgativi
medicine is acrimonious and irritating to the bow
els. This is not. Many of them produce so muci
griping pain and revulsion in the system as to more
than counterbalance the good to be derived iron
them. These pills produce no irritation or pain
unless it arise from a previously existing obstrne
tion or derangement in the bowels. Being purely
vegetable, no harm can arise from their use in any
quantity ; but it is better that any medicine shoulc
be taken judiciously. Minute directions for thei)
use in the several diseases to which they are ap
plieable are given on the box. Among the com
plaints which have been speedily cured by them, w<
may mention Liver Complaint, in its various forms
of Jaundice, Indigestion, Languor and Loss of Ap
petite, Listlessness, Irritability, Bilious Headache
Bilious Fever, Fever and Ague, Pain in the Side
and Loins ; for, in truth, all these are but the con
sequence of diseased action pi the liver. As an
aperient, they afford prompt and sure relief in Cos
tiveness, Piles, Colic, Dysentery, Humors, Serof
ula and Scurvy, Colds with soreness of the body
Ulcers and impurity of the blood; in short, an,
and every case where a purgative is required.
They have also produced some singularly sue
cessfui cures in Rheumatism, Gout, Dropsy, Gravel
Erysipelas, Palpitation of the Heart, Pains in tin
Back, Stomach, and Side. They should be freely
taken in the spring of the year, to purify the blood
and prepare the system for the change of seasons
An occasional dose stimulates the stomach awe
bowels into healthy action, and restores the appe
tite and vigor. They purify the blood, ami, by then
stimulant action oh the circulatory system, reno
vate the strength of dje bodv, and restore the
wasted or diseased energies of the whole jrrganism
Hence an occasional dose is advantageous, ever
though no serious derangement exists; but un
necessary dosing should .never be carried too fur,
as every purgative meditSne reduces the strength,
when taken to excess. The thousand cases in v hid:
a physic is required cannot be enumerated here, bu’,
they suggest themselves to the reason of every
body; and it is confidently believed this pill wii
answer a better purpose than any thing which ha
hitherto been available to mankind. When the'
virtues are once known, the public will no lor ay
doubt what remedy to employ when in need <4
cathartic medicine. Being sugar-wrapped they , :
pleasant to take, and being purely vegetable, n
harm can arise from their use in any quantity.

HOBENSACK’S LIVER PILLS.
NO part of the system is more liable to disease
than the Liver, it being supplied with numer
ous blood vessels and nerves, and if diseased, the
blood of course flowing through all parts of the
*>dy produces Liver Complaints, Jaundice, Bilious
Affections, Dyspepsia, &c.
LIVER COMPLAINT
Is attended with chills, succeeded by fever, severe
pains in the region of the Liver, vomiting, bitter
taste, yellow furred tongue, pulse full and bound
ing, the pain in the side increased by pressnre,
should the left lobe be affected, the pain is general
ly in the left shoulder, with a short dry cough, the
skin becoming ot a sallow appearance, and the
stools clay colored. This diseaso can be cured by
the use of Hobensack’s Liver Pills, as they act di
rectly upon the seat of the disease, and then ope
rating upon the bowels they expel all the corrupt
and vitiated matter from the system.
DYSPEPSIA.
The symptoms of Dyspepsia, and its various dis
eases are dizziness in the head, heartburn, oppres
sion after eating meals, sourness arising from the
stomach, Ac., and sometimes general languor of
the whole body, from this it will be seen that the
disease owes its origin to a disorganized state of
the Liver and Stomach. Ifobonsack's Liver Pills
is the very medicine to effect a permanent and last
ing cure, as they act by changing the certain mor
bid actions of the system into a healthy action,
and rendering the blood pure and healthy.
