To Mary.
, ( Who died on the First of May ]
BY LLOYD tILOVEU.
Sleep, gentle Mary ! on thy breast.
The summer fl wars will bloom,
While thou, their brightest and the best,
Dost wither in the tomb.
The sun wi I beam at morning fair,
But. ah thy light no more'.
x The song of birds will load the air,—
Thy sweeter song is o'er.
Thy lute-toned laug '. thy gushing glee
Which thrilled us all the day,
Is hushed, like music on the sea,
By Naiads lured away.
S The living tints of purest blue
r Are faded from thine eye :
W Thy spirit, like the fragrant dew,
Hath floated to the sky.
Sloop sweetly. Mary! the pure soul
► Through fairer scenes will rove.
In realms above t) is world s control,
Where all is light and love.
Weep not. fond mother, o'er her tomb.
Nor where thine augol trod;
Thv beauteous Mayflower now doth bloom
Before the throne of (Tod, •

Dear Friend Stewart: —l have been home now just
two months. When I last saw you. I had but little
hopes of ever getting any better. But 1 have now tho
pleasure of thankiffgyou for recommending me to take
Dr. Rogers'Syrup of Liverwort, Tar and Canchalagua.
I got, a dozen bottles of it and took homo with mo,
determined to make a fair trial of it, as I had done
with everythin? else. I have only taken four bottles
of It. and I must say it ha« dono me more good than
any other medicine I have ever taken. On my first
taking it, it inci eased the expectoration, and I raised
r great deal of bloody matter from iny Lungs. But
that has now ceased, and so has rny cough nearly. I
cough but little now, and expect rood to be entirely
freo from it. J consider it an invaluable medicine, and
shall recommend it to all who are afflicted with a
Cough or Difieased Lungs.
I h l a young la-ly who had the CONSUMPTION,
and bad bled a good deal from the Lungs, and doctored
several months with our Physician, but grew worse,
hare one bottle of it, jt cured her. It acted almost
miraculously in her case.

To my old. Patrons and. Erlends.
As there has been -.-.oino complaint ot my Gins,
made during the last two years : an explanation to
you in relation to this matter is duo Mr. Cueei.v.
I have boon absent a groat portion of this time,
on a visit to tho North, experimenting and getting
up a new Gin. as well as improving, the original
Saw Gin, together with suitable machinery for this
businoss, to its highest perfection, as will be ac
knowledged by all who have used them, both in
durability and quality of Cotton.
I shall now devote my individual attention in
the shop, and see that every part of each (1 in is put
up in the neatest pos-ible manner : in short.. I shall
make the orginal Oglesby Gin, which has been so
celebrated for durability and fine Cotton, having
taken the premium in this Stalo as well as that of
South Carolina in every instance except one, and
then it was said by foreign dealers that my Cotton
was of a superrior qual ty. In conclusion, my late
improvements added to niy former G ins, cannot fail
to give entire satisfaction. I will alter <z»zy old
Gins, (not too much worn,) to do better work than
it ever did before.
