; The Annual Review and Inspection ofthe Militia
j for the year 1854, will commence as soon after tho
Ist day of November next, as may bo consistent
with the distribution of orders. Tho Major Gen
erals and Officers commanding Divisions will ex
tend these orders to the Militia under their com
mand with promptness and rapidity, to ensure a
return from the Inspectors of Divisions by or be
fore the first day of January next. MajorGcncrals
and Brigadier Generals will require tho Inspec
ting Officers to note the number and grade, the
Officers and the Arms and Accoutrements in tho
I hands of the men on the field. Captains of Volun
] t.ecr Corps throughout tho State will report direct
I to Head Quarters, in conformity to the Act to au
thorize his Excellency the Governor to furnish
Arma and Accoutrements to Volunteer Corps in
the State. Major Generals and Brigadier Generals
will be particular in causing this portion of Gen

Globe Hotel, in Decatur, DeKalb county; feL
with about thirty-five acres of town lots, five of
which is sown in meadow grass, all under cultiva
tion and well fenced. The location can be excelled
nowhere in the Southern States for health. The
water and atmosphere unrivalled; male and female
schools in a flourishing condition, under the earc of
most competent instructors. The Supreme Court
of Georgia sits here once every year, commencing
the 2d Monday in August, and usually continues
its session from three to four weeks, at which time
the Hotel is liberally patronized. Fine springs of
mineral w’ater abound in this vicinity.
Any person applying early will be able to pur
chase this property for three thousand dollars, which
could not have cost originally less than twelve thou
sand.
Tho furniture in the hotel is all nearly row, and

ber, for the clearing, graduation, track laying, to
gether with the building of all bridges and* culverts
of the western division of the Mobile and Girard
Railroad, extending from Mobile to Greenville, cov
ering ’a distance of 130 miles ;
The work wiL be generally divided into one mile
sections, and bids maybe made for one or more ot
these sections; seporate proposals are desired for
the track laying, building of the trestle work, 5£
miles in length across the Tensas and Mobile rivers*,
with the intervening swamps; the trestle will be 12
feet high, hni.U upon black Oj press pile? abundant
and adjacent to the line: the three rivers will be
crossed with the common pile bridging, with trussed
pivot draws in the centre of each.
Specifications with the form of the contract and

Tho country is healthy, with no swamps, after
leaving Tensas river. From Mobile to the river, 18|
miles the grading is light and country very healthy
at all seasons ofthe year. After leaving the Tensas
the line passes through the ridge that divides the
Alabama and Conccuch waters, easy of access by
the Alabama river and through a section well
stocked with provisions.
Payments will be made one third in current
funds, one third (}) in the (08) eight percent, capi
tal stock of the Company, interest payable in stock
until the road is completed, then to cease and re
ly upon earnings ofthe road, the balance (|j
in the (08) per cent, convertible bonds of the Com
pany: maturing in five or more years at the option
of the contractor; coupons payable semi annually,
either in Columbus, Ga., Mobile. Alabama or in
J7ew York, at the option of the holder.
To bidders personally unknown to the under
signed bond and approved security will be required
to an amount not exceeding j the amount of the
contract lor the timely and faithful completion of,

Twenty-two and one half miles of the road from
Girard west will be open for business the first of
November, and 52 miles nine months thereafter.
It is the intention to have the entire line of 245
