EVIDENCE OF MERIT.
“ Lewisburg, Union Co., Pa., May 2, 1855.
Mr. J. A. Rhodes —Dear Sir: The box of med
icine you sent mo was duly received on the 11th of
April. I have sold about ene half of it, and so far
the people who have used it are satisfied that it has
cur d them. It has certainly stopped the Ague in
every one who has used it, and six of the cases
were of long standing My sister, who has had it
for five or six years back, and could never get it
stopped, except by Quinine, and that only as long
as she would take it, is now, I think, entirely cured
by your remedy. C. R. McGINLY.”

Tallapoosa Co., Ala.. Jan. 2,1852.
DkarSir:—l send yon this to certify to you that
your Extract of Yellow Dock and Sarsaparilla has per
formed one of the most wonderful cures on me that has
ever been effected on man.
I have been afllicted for forty years with eruptions on
my legs and feet; in 184 S they got so bad that I had to
go on crutches, and in 1849 I had one leg amputated
above the knee. In about nine months after my other
leg broke out in large eating and running sores from
my knee to my foot, and discharged a great deal ot of
fensive matter. My groin al>o broke out in large biles,
which discharged much offensive matter, and at the
same time my left hand broke out in large running
sores nearly to my elhow.
I The misery that I have suffered for the last two years
I cannot describe to you. 1 was in such agony that I
never rested day or night. -
In October last my son brought me one of your bottle
wrappers: I read it. and found record of some wonder
ful cures performed by your “ Extract of Yellow Dock
and Sarsaparilla,” I seat and got two bottles of it, and
commenced taking it. In two weeks, to my great as
tonishment, my sores all became easy, and I could slee
all night, a thing I had not done for two years. When
I had taken six Lotties, my sores had nearly all healed
My seres got w.-11 as if bv enchantment. 1 have now
used in all eight bottles of your •• Extract of Yellow
Dock a j <1 Sarsaparilla.” and I now consider myself well.
I < all of the afflicted to try this medicine, .’or '
Lay aside all prejudice and just try it, and proclaim
great worth to suffering mankind, and entreat them to |
take a it, for it will cure them.
My case is well known in a large portion of South C-.- j
rolina. Georgia and Alabama, and if any should doubt j
the above cure, I invite them to call on me. and I will
show them the scars. I can lie found in Tallapoosa
county, Ala., one mile from Stoe’s Ferry.
RENAJAH HUGHES.
The Yellow Dock and Sarsaparilla is peculiarly adapt
ed for females of delicate health, resulting from irreg
ularity of menstrual discharges, and other diseases pe
culiar to their sex. The proprietor has in his posses
sion a great number of certificates of cures, performed
of the above description We assure the afflicted, that
a bottle or two of Dr. Guysott’s Extract of Yellow
Dock and Sarsaparilla will at once regulate those diffi
culties and renew the natural energies.

FOR the complete cure of Coughs, Colds, Infiuenzh
Asthma, Bronchitis, Spitting of Blood, aud all oth

This preparation is getting into use all over the couu

agents, informing uh of cure« effected in their immediate
neighborhoods, warrant us in saying it .son* of the I
best, if not the very best Cough Medicine mow before ;
tho public. It almost invariably relieves and not ur.-;
frequently cures the very worst case. When all other j
Cough preparations have failed, this has relieved the
patient, as Druggists, dealers in Medicines, and Physi
cians can testify. A<k the Agent in your nearest town
what has been his experience of the effects of this med
icine. If ho has been selling it for any length of time,
he will tell you it is the best Medicine extant.
Below we give a few extracts from letters we have
received lately regarding the virtues of this Medicine'
Dr. S. S. (Min of Knoxville, Ga., says: I have been
using your Liverwort and Tar very extensively in ny
practice for three yexrs past, and it is with pleasure J
state my belief in its superiority over all other articles
with which I am acquainted, for which it is recom
mended.”
Messrs. Fitzgerald & Benners writing from Waynes
ville, N. C., say : The Liverwort and Tar is becoming
daily more popular in this country, and we think justly
so. All who have tried it speak in commendable terms
of it, and say it is very beneficial in alleviating the
complaints for which it is recommended.
Our Agent in Picken - District.S. C.. Mr. 8. R. Mcrall.
; assures us ‘-that be uses it with great benefit in his own
I tainily. and recommends it to his neighbors. He gives
an instance of a Negro womm. in his vicinity, who had
been suffering with disease of the Lungs for years, a.-
’ tended with severe cough who was relieved by the Liv
erwort and Tar. , . ..
> Such are the good report we hear of this Medicim
from all parts of the South. For a report of tho sur
prising cures it has perlot med in the Western auu
Northern and Eastern States, we would invite the auf
. sering patient to read the pamphlet which accompanist
each bottle. To all, we say, have hope, have hope .
Try the Medicine ! Be warned in season . And ne
