. A happy birthday party was held
at the cozy home of Mr. Lee Scott
on East Magnolia street last Thurs
day, June 20th, it being the 76th
anniversary of Mr. Scott his good
wife had bidden about twenty of
their friends to help Lim celebrate
the occasion. ;
A sumptuous dinner was served
at noon, followed by delicious ice
cream and the birthday cake. The
afternoon was spent on the shady
veranda in reminiscences of by-gone
days, and the guests left late in the
afternoon wishing the Mr. Scott
many more such pleasant oc;:a-}

Mr. S. G. Pryor left to-day for:
Hatlev, to attend the marriage of
his brother, Mr. Wilson Pryor,
to Miss Emily Roberts, which
occurs tomorrow. Miss Ehzabeth

Smallest Civil Suit
- On Record In Georgia
Atlanta, June 24.—The two
smallest civil suits ever known in
a Georgia court were filed here
simultaneously today. One is that
of Mamie Mathis who filed suit to
recover ten cects which 'she alleges
she paid to a local coal company
for a basket of coal whicl was
never delivered.
The other is an appeal filed by
'iliormer Policeman B. M. Brodie,
ito be relieved of paying a one
:dollar fine imposed ‘on him 1n the
recorder’s court, Brodie, who has
money, declares he will carry is
$l. suit through the United States
supreme court if necessary.
