nesday night, to spend two weeks
with friends. Miss McAllister
formerly resided in Fitzgerald and
has a large circle of friends to
whom her visit will be a source of

| DINNER PARTY.
Mrs, Tisdel entertained s veral
of the early colony members at a
dinner party Thursday. Those in
vited were: Mesdames J. W.
Turner, L. W. Frink, M, Klink
nett, F. D. Lee, C. J. Sloan, J.
R. Green, J. M. Mosher. Mr.
Thurman Lee surprised the ladies
by taking dinner with tnem, but
as he had just passed his 75th
birthday he was a privileged
character. Mrs. Marcus Luke and
Mrs. A. J. Roush were asked to
bring their fancy work and spend
the afternoon. After serving sher
bet and cake at 4:30 the ladies
were taken for an auto ride around
the city and then on to their homes.
Mrs. C. A. Kirke and daughter,
Miss Georgia Lee, have returned
from Florida where they spent
about two weeks at Pasa Grille and
other resorts.

The Romeda Club met with Mrs,
Burke last Friday afternoon and
enjoyed a pleasant afterooon. The
club meets with Mrs. E. N. Davis
toaay at her home on South Lee
street.
Mrs. D. Burnett returned from St.
Petersburg, Fla, last Saturday, where
she visited with her son, George Bur
nett, for the past few weeks. Mr.
Burnett concluded to remain for a
week or two longer, as he is not in
the best of health, which he finds isi
improving.
We, with other members of the
family, desire to express our sin
cere thanks and appreciation for
the many Kkindiesses shown us
during our mother’s sickness and
death, Mrs. N. H, Lee who passed
away Sunday night.

WIGHTMAN-STORY.
The marriage of Miss Louise
Wightman and Mr. James C, Story
which occurred Tuesday evening,
June 25th, will be of widespiead
interest to their many friends,
The ceremony was solemnized at
the home of the bride’s father,
Mr, E. P. Wightman, in the pres
ence of only a few intimate friends
besides the immediate family. Rev.
Thomas M. Callaway officiated.
The home was decorated
shroughout with quantities of
flowers, and during the cere
mony soft music rendered vy Mrs.
C. C. Parker added to the impres
siveness of the occasion. The
bride’s wedding gown was of white
chiffon over white messaline, and
her going-away gown was a tailor
ed suit of hight grey with hat and
gloves to match.
The bride is numbered among
the most prominent young women
of the city,baving lived here many
years und numbers Ler friends by
her acquaintances. The groom
was for a number of years a resi
dent of Fitzgerald, but now makes
Tifton his headquarters.
Mr. and Mrs. Story left Thurs
day night on the A, B. & A. fora
visit with friends and relatives :in
different parts of ihe state, after
‘which they will be at home in
‘Tifton.
