This Quilt Contains
38,526 Pieces
Atlanta, Oct.- 14 —The most
wonderful quiltin the world is one
of the things that Georgia possess
es, according to information which
comes from persons who have
seen a patch-quilt made by Mrs.
E. K. Vandiver, of Dawsonville.
The quilt contains 38.526 sepa
rate pieces of cloth, all sewn in
separately. The quilt design is
long rows of square piecesof cloth
with borders, There are 207 of
these rows one way and 185 the
other, and the border pieces bring
the total up to the above figure.
The rows are symmetrical, and the
work as a whole is a monument of
infinite patience.

Atlanta, Oct, 11,—The Nation
al [nsurance Company, a co-opera
tive life insurance Company, with
about $3,000,000 in outside busi
ness in Georgia, was placed in the
hands of a receiver today by Judge
Bell, of the Fulton superior court.
The action resulted from suits
flled by Max Spegel and M. Mai
selle, agents of the company. Ac
cording to Jerome Moore, who
was named receiver, the compan)’s
liabilities are $263,000 with assets
of $75,000. Arrangements are
being made to reinsure the Na
tional’s business.

Atlanta, Oct, 14.—Dr. A.S.
J. Stovall, of Elberton, member
of the state legislature and an ar
dent Wilson supporter, has sent
to State Chairman W, J. Harris
of the state democratic executive
committee, a copy of the last
presidential democratic ticket that
won in Georgia and the United
States, that of Grover Cleveland
and Adlaa E. Stevenson, in 1892,
just twenty years ago.
The ticket is yellow with age,
and bears the names of some dis
tinguished Georgians us electors,
some of them still living and some
dead, :

citizens have just raised $26.50 by
