Atlanta, November 7,—The first
friend who met Senator W. J.
Harris, chairman of the state
democratic executive committee,
after the Wilson victory was as
sured, greeted the senator with
the following query.
“Well, how do you think you
would look in knee brecches?
The senator was taken back for
a fraction of & second and then
grinned, for he understood that
his friend was suggesting that he
might be looking foreward to an
ambassadorship in one of the big
courts of Europe. ‘“‘Georgia is
good enough for me,” responded
the senator, ana though I could
wear kree breeches if I chose, 1
have no intention of proving it
before any foreign potentat:s.”
