Ashburn, Ga,, Dec. B—Tan
Cleghorn, who figured in the in

streets” here tonight, by W. F.
Cochran, a brother-indaw of the

First reports that spread about
town were that Cleghorn had
been killed. Cleghorn is still

Cleghorn was aloneat the time

and opened fire at close range.
Cleghorn fell and was picked up

Cochran also believed -that he
had killed Cleghorn and gave
himself up to Sheriff Branch. He
was released on bail as soon as it
was found that Cleghorn was not

Cochran loaned Cleghorn a
mule some time ago and later
when Cochran attempted to bor
row a mule from Cleghorn to
cultivate his field Cleghorn re
fused him. Words followed at
that time. Cochran then told
Cieghorn he would get even with
him, it was learned tonight.

were unable to change the dates.
They are the only two attractions

your home paper and we feel sure
'you will find some suggestion in
the way of a Christmas remember
ance that will be suitable, There
is no necessity of sending money
away from home when the same
goods can be bought rght here in
Fitzgerald and possibly at a lower
price. :
An inspection of the different
stores handling holiday goods has
convinced us that there are articles
here that will delight the most
fastidious taste, Our merchants
have gone to the trouble and ex
pense of having their wares placed
before you in show windows and
in the newspapers, which is more
than the mail order houses have
done, and you should surely give
them the first consideration. Do
your shooping at home, thereby
enabling the merchants’ to give
you a better line to select from
next year. B
