Baby Mine at Grand
The announcement of the first
local presentation of the success
of two continents, ‘‘Baby Mine”’
at the Grand Thursday night
should be the means of packing
the house to the limit. No one
who has watched the fortunes of
‘“‘Baby Mine’’ will denyitis one
big unmistakable hit. It ran for
one solid year at Daly’s Theatre
New York, and is now meeting
with enormous success at Sir
Charles Wydham’s Criterion The
atre, London. It will also short
ly be produced in Paris, Berlin,
Vienna and Australia. Asa fun
producer ‘‘Baby Mine’’ need ac-i
knowledge no peers and it is
said to be an unbroken delirium
of laughter. It is no easy trick
to write a genuinely funny com
edy, but Margaret Mayo has so
admirably constructed ‘‘Baby
Mine’’ that it is said to fairly
bristle with ideas that are in
genious and clever and its inci
dents follow each other on a gat
ling gun plan. Get tickets at
Adams’ Candy Kitchen.
- Mr. J. R. Monroe, of Abbeville,
is transacting business in the city
to-day.
Don’t get this big sale confused with the average
land sale, where the property being sold must bring a
certain price or no sale. There will be no strings, no
fakirs, no pikers, no straw bidders, but a genuine real
live auction sale for what you think it's worth. The
land will show for itself, and you will be the judge
on the price. If you are the last bidder you'll get a
deed to one of the best farms in Georgia, that's a
cinch, and when the sun goes down Dec. 17th every
farm will ‘have a new owner. There'll be something
doing when our double auctioneers who cry same bid,
same tone of voice, same time, selling a fartl a min
ute, opens up on this cne. Come and see the greatest
land sale ever held in the state.

Is to-day a simple, safe, sane thing
to do that the old adage ‘it is easier
to earn than tosave money’’ is hard
ly true any more. THEN people
kept their surplus cash in stockings,
under bed mattresses and in cracks
of the wall. NOW that the most
marvelous of all institutions---the
Savings Bank---keeps your money
for you in steel, fire-proof, burglar
proof and even PANIC-proof vaults,
not only charging you nothing for
the service but paying you from 3
