The attendance at the Park yesterday n.rning was coinponod in the main of ea- bibitors who went thither to remove their goods. In the afternoon, however, about a thousand persons went in to see the races which were to wind up the show, nucxicxs. The committees not having all re ported. we are unable, aa yet, to give a full list of the premiums awarded; but hope to do so at an early day. Messrs. Singletoe, Mont k Co. took three premiums on their display of boots and shoes; ooe for the best display, one for the best hand-made work and one for the best hand-made brogmns for planters. The goods they exhibited were all ted from their stock and they showed no sample which cannot be duplicated from their store. Their competitors were Mr. E. P. Strong and Mr. Jacob Schell, both of whom made exceedingly handsome displays. Messrs. K. Findley's Sons took two medals, one on their Eclipse Cotton Press and one for the best display of planta tion machinery. They made one of the best shows on the ground, exhibiting nothing which was not manufactured their shops. We congratulate them upon their snooess as exhibitors. Messrs. We would almost have imagined that they had emptied their* store to make this show, and yet it showed no signs of depletion. They deserve the highest praise for the interest they manifested in the fair. THE SACKS. Four races came off yesterday after noon. The first was ’a running race, mile heats, the best three in five, for a purse of $500, open to the world; no second money. Messrs. Baoon k Co. en tered Frank Hampton; W. G. Harding, of Tennessee, entered Mariposa, and G. C. Napier entered a gray gelding not named. Frank Hampton won in three the handsome new steamer recently brought hero by Messrs. Harrell k Hsyes, of Paterson N. J., and have determined to name it the O. G. Sparks. In the eeoond story of Premium Hall was exhibited some admirable apo of harness, which challenged the admira tion of overy one. It oonsisted of a eel of double carriage harness, triple gold plated, gold martingale chains and other appointments all in the most eleg.mt style, and a set of single road harm is. also gold mounted and very fine. This harness was made by Mr. Theo. Duffcrd, of Newark. N. J., anti took the grand sil ver uicdal at the New Jersey State Fair. The harness is all hand made, and exhib its as fine stitching as was ever seen in Georgia. Fine Pigeon*. Among the fowls that were exhibited at the Fair, we noticed a veiy handsome cage of pigeons exhibited by Mr*ter Johnnie Hoard man, aged ten years. The lot consisted of two pairs of common piptms, uncommonly handsome; a pur of brown tumblers; a pair white and brown Turbots, and a pair black turbots with white wings which are known u jacobins. The whole display was very creditable for any one, and especially for a boy of his age. There was no premium offered for which Master Board man could compote, therefore ho deserve* all the xnore credit for his diplay. for a purse of $150, $100 to the first horse and $50 for the second. Mile heat and repeat. G. C. Napier entered Pretty- by-Night; W. G. Harding entered Mo- xelle, and M. G. Whitlock entered Quar tette. The first heat was won by Quar tette. Time 1.54J. Mariposa second and Pretty-by-Night third. The second heat was wen by Mozelle. Time 1.60b Quartette second, Pretty-by-Night drawn. The third heat was necessary to decide the race and was won by Mozelle. Time 1.58. Tho next race was a mile dash for two year olds, for a purse of $100, $75 to the first horse and $25 to the second. Mr. Hagie entered the sorrel filly Darter, and Col. A. S. Hamilton entered a scrrel filly not named. Tho latter wen the dash. Time 2.20. H. Wood's chesnut colt was entered, but did not start. The fourth, last and most amusing of all, was a mule race, mile hoats, best two in three, for a purse of $100—$75 to the first mule and $25 to the second. A, S. Hamilton entered bay mule Kite, G. C. Napier entered Cocklebur, and Sam Salter entered Throw’d-Joo-Warren. The first heat was won by Throw’d-Joe-Warren. Time 2.20. Kite second and Cocklebur third. The second heat was won by Kite. Time 2. TO, Throw'd-Joe-Warren second and Cocklebur third. The third and last heat and the race was won by Throw'd- Joe-Warren. Time 2.31, Kite second and Cocklebur third. One* of the riders claimed a foul on the last heat, but his mule came in ahead of the one that fouled him, the point was not one for ad judication by the judges. The race was a very funny one, and it was a pity that it could not have been made wholly by daylight. The last heat was run after dusk. The Lillie ElArlge Combination. This troupe gave another performance at Balaton Hall last night, which wa* quite as admirably done as anything they have yet produced. The company is ooe of the best that has ever played in Ma- yyp There may have been finer stars here than Miss Eldridge, but there have been few lcdies here who made friends in so short a space of time. She is a good actress, thoroughly understands her parts, and presents them with a charming grace, which does justice to the authors whose ideals she impersonates. She is far above the inifferent standard of average cleverness and frequently arises to the dignity of fine acting. Miss Eld rid go is sustained by the best stock company that has played in Macon since the war. There are men and wo men in the company who have the ability to be stars, and, therefore, it is no won der it hat received such flattering praises from the press wherever it has played in the South. To-night the play of Alma will be re peated, and to-morrow night the play will be Borneo and Juliet, the leading male character being sustained by a lady. The people of Macon who go to shows should not fail to see this company. i* sold by all nml**! far sR diasa**-* of the kidney and urinary - %in‘. Beware of counterfeits. Greer, Lake k Co.'s display at the State Fair, one worthy of particular mention, was that of Messrs. Barkoou^e Bros, k Co., of Louisville, Ky. They ma !e the finest and most attractive display of pure and fine whiskies ever made in the South. They were represented most excellently well by Mr. V. EL Storm, who will long be remembered by the ladies who visited the Fair aa a most polite and courtly gentleman. He won more popularity in seven days than moat men could win in seven years. This bouse erected a pyramid of bar rels, with glass heads, representing some of their famous brands of whisky, in cluding "Hardeman’s Silver Wedding Rye,” "Gold Dost,” "Lee Valley,’ "Grace's Kentucky Pride," and others, constituting undoubtedly the most ele gant combination ever shown in the State. Above this pyramid floated magnificent silk banner, awarded to this house by the State Fair of Californio. This added greatly to the beauty of Messrs. Greer, Lake k Co.’s superb ner. Of course Mr. Storm's pyramid got the blue ribbons.
