Dr.H. dnritb, the General Agentof the Piedmont and- Arlington Life Insurance Company, makes this pertinent inquiry. For a very small sum paid when in the full vigor and strength of health and manhood, you can assure competence and independence to your loved ones when called upon, perhaps suddenly, to pay the last debt of nature. How tranquil the rest, how easy tho conscience of tho man who performs this duty to his family—a duty para mount to every other, and which nothing save ignorance can excuse. Will anyone say I can't afford the expense ? Let him retrench in personal matters, and the task will become easy. How many cigars do you smoke per annum ? What amount is expended in pleasure seeking ? What are your wine bills ? Can you not wear a coat, or sport boots a trifle leas costly for the love you cherish for wife and bairns ? Think on these things, and when you have succeeded in banishing selfishness from your heart, then lose not a moment in securing tho Doctor's advice and assistance. Ho will insure you at as low rates as can be afforded by any re sponsible company, and according to any legitimate'plan you may select. More over, he will provide for your every want in sickness, so that bread and sustcnanco may not be lacking when you are physi cally unablo to labor. , - Holding a policy too, in the Piedmont and Arlington, you have nothing to fear from losses of. any kind. That institu tion is established upon a basis so firm and enduring, and its officers arc so faith ful to their trusts and prudent in the management of its concerns, that no earthly venture can bo more safe and certain. Remember then, ye who have hitherto neglected to insure your lives, that Dr. Beckwith can always bo found at his offico on Mnlbcrry street, and tho sooner you attend to this duty, tho hap pier will you be. Delays are dangerous. Should you be cut off to-night, are your beloved families provided for? If not, how sad their condition and how terribly embittered will be the last moments of your existence. Take heed then, and in- saro immediately in tho Piedmont and Arlington. Total. *404 US The total receipt* for the week were 3.7X7 hales —4404 by rail anil 13S by wagon.
