There was, perhaps, as little drunken

nono tho wiser for it.
The children, of course, enjoyed tho

They found the regular invoices of sweet

was thnt they aro not adopts in judging

hearts would have been saddened at the
effect tint tho panic had had upon Old

in tho integrity and liberality of their

of his gifts. They aro happy to bo re-

possibly conjectured os much beforehand,

However, wo hope all had as merry a

well known that a single fire cracker,

SPEOIAE NOTICE
This Companv possesses the following attractive features :
1st, Its premiums are from 20 to 25 per cent, less than those usually charged
by other companies, thus enabling those contemplating insurance to sscsre beyond
contingency about one third more insurance than the same premium will secure in a
mutual company. „ . . . , , , . .
2d These premiums are justified by experience, and more nearly accord wita the
existing conditions of the basis of the business than those of any other company or-
■mailed in the State of New York. Their sufficiency and propriety have been ahnnd-
antlv verified by the approval of the best financiers and actuaries in the countiy.
8d. The Universal offers a fair, straightforward and business-like contract—so
much insurance for so much premium.
4th. Everything promised in the Company's advertising documents is guaranteed in iU
policy, ineluding an equitable surrender-value clause, in which a stated amount of
paid-up life or paid-np term insurance is given for each year of the policy.
5th. Losses paid in thirty days after proof of death.
Cth. The Company has issued over 20.000 policies; is in a sound nr.! flourishing
condition, and enjoying a rapidly increasing patronage.
7th. Ample security. The ratio of assets to liabilities is 140 per cent., or in other
words, the Company has $140 for each $100 of its indebtedness.
