Bind that the object of the International
Sunday School Convention ia to promote
Bit I* study, and, by consequence, Bible
leaching, hut by each teacher in accord
ance with the dictates of his own coc-
Kirnee. All that the committee appoiut-
*1 by the International Sunday School
Convention has to perform in simply to
(elect thonn poitiocA of scripture to be
.ludiid and taught during a ecven years’
coarse.
From Atlanta I cams with many oth-
r n to attend a Baptist Sunday School
Coovintion and institute, held in connec
tion with the Georgia Baptist Conven
tion. It wan gotten up by the Baptist
giate Sunday School Kvangelist,and eomo
of tbs best Sunday School men of the In
ternational Sunday School Convention
•ere present, and took an active part in
Ibe proceedings; for instance, Mr. G. A.
Felts, of New York, Mr. C. B. Stout and
Prof. W. F. SberwiD, of Pennsylvania.
All of these are prominent Sunday School
men at home, and tho last in an admira
ble musician and singer.
His powers added very muen to the
interest of the Sunday School meeting.
Tbe programme was a well-considerd
one, and embraced among tho speakers,
betides the three gentlemen named. Dr.
T. K. Skinner, of Macon; Dr. Gwinu, ol
Atlanta; Dr. DeVotle, of Griffin; Dr.
Wbaiton, of Forsyth; Eov. W. W. ban-
dram, of Augusta, and Colonel W. O.
Tuggle, of LaOrange. Tbe lilt delivered
a very pretty and appropriate address of
•thome to tho Convention, to which Dr.
j. H. DeVotie, in behalf of tbo assembly,
main an exceedingly well-worded and
frh -itoua reply. On the first night Dr.
Oeisn and Mr. Landrum spoke, tbc lat
ter at aome lengt h and with ability. Th
address of Dr. Skinner next day on tho
Hosday School worker’s inspiration and
motive was full of animation and feeling.
Bat perhaps tho lions of tho Convention
were Messrs. Peltz and Stout. Tbo close
of tho session on Wednesday, when tho
large Baptist house of worship was
crowded with ladies and gentlemen, was
moat interesting and affecting. Dr.
Wharton’s address on tbo Sanday School
fouibililies of Georgia was a very lino
•ad well prepared address, delivered
with favor and animation. Tho fare
well speech of Mr. Stoat and tho reply of
Kav. v. E. Butler wero happy, both in
conception and performance, impromptu
aa they were, and the closing hymns by
Mr. Sherwin, were exceedingly well sung
and very affecting. During tho night a
short speech on oriental macnora and
customs, en costume, by the orientalist,
Mr. A. O. Van Lennop, from Constanti
nople, now a resident of New York, and
an addresa relating to the Baptist Sunday
Schools among the Indians of tho West,
proved highly entertaining and instruct-
Aitem»tely fthalten mad Krorcb-
»d by tbe paroxysms of chills and fevrr,
tho wretched sufferer for whom quinine
has been proscribed essays in vain to ex-
fgates tno viohneo of tbo fits, and event
ually proves highly injurious to the sys
tem. In order to effect a thorough cure
of malaria! fever, whether intermittent or
remittent or to render tho system Im
pregnable to its attacks, Hostetler’s
Stomach Bitters should be used daily.
That this medicino it a searching cradi-
cant of disc as ea generated by miasma,
aud a reliable safeguard against them, is
a fait so widely recogdixed in this and
countries that to adduce evidence in sup
port of it is unnecessary; but were it
either essential or deeirable to do, it may
well be supposed that from the testimony
corroborative of its claims, which has
been accumulating during the last twen
ty-flru years and over, sufficient proofs
might be gathered to convince the most
inveterate skeptic. apr23 lw

An AwtonI*lilng Fact.
A 1":.;•• pri.p. n on of the American
people are to-day dying from the effects
of Dyspepsia or disordered liver. Tho
result of these diseases upon the masses
of intelligent nnd valuable people is most
alarming, making life actually a burden
instead of a pleasant existence of enjoy
meat and usefulness os it ought to be.
There Is no good reason for this, if you
will only throw aside prejudice and skep
ticism, take the advice of Druggists and
your friends, and try one bottle of Green’s
August Flower. Your speedy relief is
itain. Millions of bottlos of this med
icino have been piven away to try its
|virtues, with satisfactory results in every
case. You can bay a .tuple bottle for
10 cents to try. Three doecs will relievo
tbe worst case. Positively sold by all
Druggists on the Wei tern Continent.

Having practically tested tho Fly Fan bought of Messrs Wing A Solomon, I pronounce it a capital invention. I use it on my dining tabic, and is

Fall ‘Trade 1877
AURORA, INDIANA,
I have just completed a large refrigerating ice
house in my cellar, capable of holding 500 kegs oi beer,
I will keep the beer ice-cold all the time. It will be ship
ped here in Gaff & Co’s fine refrigerating cars, and will be
as good when it arrives as when first made. I will handle
both kegs and bottled beer. This beer is made especially
for the Southern trade, and is pronounced by all who try
it to be the best in the country. Messrs. Gaff & Co. are
men of ample means, and have used every facility they have
to make the AURORA BEER second to none in the
United States. Below I annex statements from reliable
merchants of several Southern cities who are handling these
goods:
Bates, Reed & Cooley

CHARLES L. ROSS,

FOR GEORGIA and PLORIDA Saodaua
Excursions.
I have been handling the Aurora Beer lor four years, and consider it second to none in America.
J. J. HENS OR, Nashville, Tenn.
I have sold thirty thousand kegs of Gaff A Co*» Aurora Beer in three year*, and it has given
perfect satisfaction. J* F* DOLL, Yickiburg, Mias.
Messrs. Gaff & Co'* Aurora Beer is the finest and best quality I ever met with in this market,
ave csed beer from almost every brewery of any note m the United States, and hare no hesitancy
I have used beer from almost every brewery of any note i
in saying the Auiotu Bear gives the best satisfaction of any.
ALPH. WALTZ. New Orleans.
We have handled the Aurora Beer since 1573, and now we can use no other beer in this market.
We have had shipments from Milwaukee, St. Louis&nd Cincinnati since, but no go, They all prefer
Aurora Beer, aa it seems to stand shipping better thsn any oiher, and Gaff & Co** refrigervtor car*
haye been a snccess in keeping the beer as good when arriving aa when it left the brewery, W e have
about 400 Germans, all of whom pronounce the Aurora to be the best beer ever in the market.
J. M. VETTE R & CO, Chattanooga. Tenn.
I have employed Mr. Jacob Russell to assist me m hand
ling the beer, and he will call upon the parties who sell beer
daily, and supply their wants, or try to. His long experience
in the business is a guarantee that the beer will be properly
handled. I will have a wayon and horses in a few days to de
liver the beer. 1 ivill guarantee every heg of the Aurora Beer
to give satisfaction. I will keep from 300 to 500 kegs in stock
iu my ice house, All orders promptly attended to,
