Chicago, Norember 12.—The national
and international convention for the pnr-
poae of extending oar foreign trade, espe
cially to encourage reciprocal trade on
the American Continent, between Can
ada, tho United States and South Ameri
can States, with Mexioo and Cnba, met at
Fairwell Hall to-day. Over 300 dale-
gates were present, and nearly every city
in the Union was represented. The
largest delegations were from St. Louis,
Louisville, Cincinnati, Columbus, Bur
lington and Chicago. Tne Mexican min
ister and a number of Congreesmen are
in attendrnoe.
