GOOD BE3ULTS
Are always pleasant to contemplate,
every dyspeptic tuflerer who uses Par
ker’s Ginger Tonic will attest To ob
tain from this remedy the most gratify
ing relief when distressed with Headache,
Low Spirits, Nervousness, Wakefnlnra?,
Palpitation of tho Heart, Liver Disorders,
Costiveness, Pain in tho Stomach, Heart
burn, Cramps, etc., is a pleasant expe
rience that surprises no less than it com
forts. Another remarks ble feature of this
view, he expressed himself freely. Ho
declares that nnder no circumstances will
he run for the Governorship of Ohio.
He has full confidence in tho ability of
the Democracy to win tho fight without
him. Hu ambition, he thinks, would be
the eigaal for opposing forces from the
Esst, which would be exerted to secure
his defeat with the hope of crippling him
in fatnre political ambitions. He says
that in the election of eleven Democratic
Congressman Ohio not only saved the
Democracy in case tbe Presidential
choice should fall into tho House of
Representatives, but also saved the or
gamzition of tbo House itself. He hod
teen critioired by tome of bis friends
when he came out here last spring snd
urged the redistrieUng of tbo HUte, bnt
subsequently events bid shown that that
was a wise political move. Had Ohio
sent a delegation of fourteen Republicans
and six Democrats, as eho most assuredly
woold have done coder the old district
ing, tho Kepubliosns would have been
able to organize tbo House and turn tho
tables on tbe Democrat:o Hens to as soon
as it ehonld get into power. Tho Sena
tor urges an aggreasivo policy for tbo
Democrats. Bold action is needed, in his
opinion, to aohlevo .access, Let the
party have aggressive doctrines in the fu-
tnro snd fight for them, and he had no
fear of tho result.

Don’t let tho blood stagnate in your I

any organio or inorganic disease, grow
won and haggard simply because their
blood is thin, watery, deficient in nour
ishing properties and so meager in quan
tity that the extremities are very imper- [
fectly supplied with it, and tho superfi

M. De Qaatrefsgos presented to tho
Aoidomy of Soleuces at its last sitting a
note from M. Laoerda relative to some
researched be has boen making at Rio de
Janerlo into tbe action of tbo venom of
the rattler,nuke. Hitherto, the gonornl
belief has boen that tbo poisonous matter
secreted by oerlain species of reptiles was
nothing more than a poisonous saliva, act
ing in tbo manner of notable ferments,
Uts investigations, however, show that the
matter in question oontains what is oslled
figured ferments, the analogy of which
with bsoteriden is very romarkable.
From a young and vigorous oro-
talus, BObjseted to tho action of
ohloroform, be obtained a drop of the
venom on a chemically dean piooo of
glass, nod at oaoe placed it noder a
oroMope. Almost immediately bo ob
served ibe formation of a filamentous
pulp in an arborescent disposition. Grad
ually Ibe thickened filament, after having
pushed out tbo spores, dissolved and dis
appeared, and tho liberated spot eg
■welled and enlarged visibly, each of
them sending out a ininuto tube, which
lengthened rapidly. After a very shoit
period tho latter separated from tbe first
spore and oonstitnted another nucleus for
engendering tho poison. Id tbo examina
tion of tbo blood of animals killed by
the bite of one of those snakos, M. Lv
cerda noticed that the red globule of the
blood oommenced by presenting some
snail brilliant {Mints on tbo surface
which spread with groat rapidity, and
ultimately tbe globules melted one into
the other, forming a sort of amorphous
paate, which oould no longer circulate in
the veins. Other animals in which that
blood was iojeoted immediately after tho
death of tbe first, expired in a few hours,
presenting all tbo symptoms of baring
themselves been bitten, and their blood
always showed thosama alteration. 51.
Lxeerda concludes by stating that nil-
morons experiments have shown that the
true anlid'jto for serpent poisoning is the
injection under the ekin of alcohol, nr

in cverv respect A little practice invariably Increases the capacity of tho lungs, and as tho
oils and balsams condense oil tile multitudinous air vesicles of the lungs their capacity is won
derfully enlarged and the external measurement of tho chest greatly increased. The hollow
chest in a few weeks becomes rounded and full. There are. or course, cases of consumption
beyond the possibility of cure; but the Inhalants give great relief to invalids of this class, and in
many instances cure cases considered hopeless by all who know them.
CATAICRII, so very difficult lo treat, and so seldom cured by other methods of treatment,
readily yields to this painless end plc:a<ant remedy. It is remarkable how quickly these ulcer

cavities of the head and oat of tile nose. It is now fally demonstrated that inhalation is the only
method by which this terrible and almost universal disease can be permanently cured.
