and he assarted that tho protoetion of the

Hew u Give « Horse m Flee Cast
I am frequently aiked the question
Doctor, what can I do to make my horse
have a line coat r la answering that
question I would say: A little elbow
greese, with proper feeding, warm cloth
ing, frequent sweating, and good groom
ing, are the essentials nece-ssrv in pro
ducing a Sue healthy coat upon a horse.
Blain, wboia good authority, says: "For
dressing, there are these things: the
curry-comb which fetches out the duat
the dusting brash, that takes away the
loose dust; the hard wisp, a little moist
ened, that takee out more dust got from
him; and the felt a little moistened, that
takes out more duat from him afterward:
but the wet hand, whioh should be last
tak*-a cut more duat, but a great deal of
looao hair, which is much better than
any of tho former; after this a linen cloth
to wipe them over; and then a woolen
cloth, and so clothe mm up. But tbe
oeBt of all is tbe knife (scraper) of heat,
for when ha is hot, scraping gets all the
sweat and moisture out of him, ao that
he is dry presently after, and as all that
wet would turn to dust there is eo much
labor saved.
