THE “LOST AST” RECOVERED,
Galen, the most celebrated physician, fiourish
ed in the second century. Iln theory was that
Tools and herbs, properly com pounded, are Na
ture** remedy. His cures wore so marvelous
that he was accused of magic. His mighty skill
and success eilencea his enemies, and his opin
ions held sway in the medical world for centu*
ries, until tho art of compounding vegetable
remedies was gradually lost in the thlckeuing
gloom of themiddlo ages, and poisonous mineral
mixtures took its place. But the clouds are
brraking in our d«y, and tho almost magical
virtues of Vegetine. joyfully attested by thou
sand^ stamp it as a true Galenical compound,
and ms a blood-purifier and health.re»torer
probably ha* had no equal since the d&ys of
Galen himself.
A Hopeless Sufferer Cured by
VEGETINE
Noahk, Conk, Nov 11,1874.
H R tfTBVBHS. K*q —
.Doar Fir—Thinking that a statement of my
case may meet the eye of some one suffering
from Scro’nla. I beg you to publish the following,
which I cheerfully furnish of my own free will.
I have been afflicted with 8crofulou3 Humor
from my birth, and at times very badly. When
about six years old the disease made it9 appear
ance on my head, and it wa* deemed advisable
to have the hair shaved, but they were obliged
to cut it off with embroidery scissors, as my
head was so sore I could not hare it shaved.
After we had succeeded in healing tho sores on
the outside they broke, but on the inside, caus
ing mo great pain. There have been times when
the surface of my hands was all raw from the
effect of this humor, and no pen can describe the
great suffering 1 have endured.
About three years ago small kernels made
their appearance on the cords of my neck, sev-
eo&l of which grew into quite largo tumors, and
nothing which we could use would remove
them. My whole system wti9. so full of scrofu
lous humor that it seemed ready to burst
through the skin at all parts or ray body, and I
was in a terrible weak and feeble condition.
The tumors on my neck had grown to such a
size as to disfigure me badly. When In this
hopeless condition I was advised by a friend te
try the Vegetine. and I at once commerced tak
ing it, and after I had used it a short time the
tumors commenced discharging, and I do not
think that I overestimate the quantity from
each tumor when 1 say that a good-sized teacup
ful of corruption ran out, after which they com
menced to heal up and disappear, and now my
neck is as smooth and free from bunches as any
lady’s.
1 believe the Vegetine has entirely cleansed
every taiot of scrofula from my system, and I
desire to have this statement publisheJ, so that
other sufferers may find relief, as they surely
will do, if they try tbe Ve *etine.
It will afford me pleasure to give anv farther
information relative to my case tj all who will
call or address me.
ALICE SHIRLEY.

I saw Vegetine advertised in the Farmer, and

taking tbe Becond bottle: he** health is much
improved, and the tumor is going away as fast
as it came- Every one in this vicinity knows
what Vegetine has done lor my daughter, and 1

whoaro not aware of its great value. .
Very respectfully,

Dear 8ir—I have been troubled with Canker
from childhood, causing my mouth to be so sore
at times i hat I was unable to eat. Have taken
many preparations, but with bo effect until 1
tried your Vegetine. After taking a lew dose j I
found it relieved the faintness ut the stomach
that always accompanies Canker Humor; and
by the time A bad taken the third bottle my
mouth was entirely cured. Have not been
troubled with it since that time, which is eight
months ago. I have recommended it to several
of my acquaintances, and everyone speaks favor
ably of its good eiTeot. Your* truly.
