TEE “LOST ART” RECOVERED. |
Galen, the most celebrated physician, flourish
ed in the second century. His theory was that
roolsand herbs, properly compounded, are Na
ture’s remedy. His cures were so marvelous
that he was accusod of magic. His mighty still
and success silenced his enemies, and his opin
ions held sway in the medical world for centu
ries, until the art of compounding vegetable
remedies was gradually loat tn the thickening
gloom of tho middle ages, and poisonous mineral
mixtures took its place. But tbe clouds are
breaking In our day, and the almost magical |
virtues of Vegetiae, joyfully attested bv tbo
sands, stamp it as a truo Galenical compound,
and as a blood-purifier and health-re.-torer
probably lias bad no equal since the days of
Galen himself. '

H R Stbtebb. Esq—
Dear Sir—Thinking that a statement of my
case may meet the eye of some one suffering
irom Sere: ula. I beg you to publish the following,
which 1 cheerfully furnish of my own free will, f
1 have been afflicted with Scrofulous Humor
from my birth, and at times very badly. When |
about six years old the disease made its appear
ance on my head, and it was deemed advisable
to havd tho hair shared, but they were obliged
to cut it oil with embroidery scissoirs, as my I
head was so sore I could net hare it shared.
After we had succeeded in healing tbe sores on
thoontside they broke, baton the inside, caus
ing me great pain. There have been times when
the surface of tny hands was all raw from the
effect of this humor, and no pen can describe tbe
great suffering 1 have endured.
About threo Tears ago smalt kernels made
their appearance on the cords of my neck, sev-
coal of which grew into quite large tumors, snd
nothing which we could use would remove
them. My whole system was so full ol scrofu
lous humor that it seemed ready to burst
through tbe skin at all parta of my body, and 1
was in a terrible weak and feeble condition.
The tumors on my neck bad grown to such a
size as to disfigure mo badly. When in this
hopeless condition I was advised by a friend to
try the Vegetine, and I at once commer ced tak
ing it. and alter 1 had used it a short time the
tumors commenced discharging, and I do not
think that 1 overestimate tbo quantity from
each tumor whan 1 say thata good-aized teacup
ful of corruption ran out, idler which they com
menced to heal up and disappear, and now my
neck is as smooth and freo from bunches as any
lady’s.
1 believe tbe Vegetine has entirely cleansed
every laint of scrofula from my system, and 1
desire to have this statement publisbei, so that
other sufferers may find relief, as they surely
will do. il they try the Ve -etiue.
It will afford mo pleasure to give anv farther
information relative to my case t > all who will |
call or address me.

Dear Sir—My daughter has been out of health
forabout two years. About a year ago she had |
a tumor come on her side which was very pain
ful.
I saw Vegetine advertised in the Farmer, and
sent to Bangor and got two bott'es. She is now
taking the second bottle; he' health is much
improved, and tbe tumor is rotng away as fast
as it came. Every one in this vicinity knows
what Vegetine has done for my daughter, and I
take every opportunity to recommend it to those
who are not aware ot its great valne.
Very respectfully. .

many preparations, but with no effect until I

found it relieved the faintness at the stomach
th.t always accompanies Canker Humor; and
by the time 1 had taken the third bottle my
mouth was entirely cured. Hava not been
troubled with it arace that time, which i* eight |
