York Steam Power acd Heating Com
pany, the organization of which Gen.
Spinola was a promoter, whose object is
to convey steam throughout the streets
of the diy, to be used for motive power,
for cooking purposes, for heating houses,
acd for melting snow from tbe streets in
tbe winter. Tbe incorporators include

is fixed at five million dollars, divided
into fifty thousand shares.
New Orleans, July 2 —Several articles
of ordinance reported by the Committee
on General Provisions were to-day adopt
ed by the Constitutional Convention.
Article 20, *autkorizing the General
Assembly to grant lottery charters or
privileges, each party to pay $40,000 per
annum into the State treasury ; all char
ters shall cease January, 1895, from
which time all lotteries are prohibited
in this S:ate; also recognizing ca a con
tract binding on the State the charter
of the Louisiana Lottery Company, ex-
cipi its monopoly clause, which is abro
