grain.
Commercial authorities report almost
an entire cessation of the movement of
Northern wheat to Giorgio, local mills
finding material mifficieu' in their home
growth. Gulf Slates 75; tbe small
crops of Alabama and Mississippi are in
high condition, but the crop of Texas is a
third below an average, through drought
and local storms. Mediterranean is tho

Memphis. Jnly 15.—The first train on
the Li-tie Bock Km road eince last Fn
day left this morning for Lonoke, Ark.

Cairo. At a meeting of the Board of
Health this forenoon, it was resolved

Memphis, and the Sonth.all quarantine
restrictions be suspended.

negro aged 19, who murdered his grand
mother in J anuary last, ia Cuesierfisid
county, and was subsequently rentsneed
to be hanged, having obtained a new trial
was again arraigned yesterday. The j ury,

noon of tbe same day shot her deliber
ately with an old army musket, literally
blowing off a greater portion of her
head. Tne trial occupied all day until
near midnight, when the case was given
to the jury, who, after an hour’s delib
eration, returned a verdict of murder in
the second degree, and fixed his punish
ment at 18 years in the penitentiary.

of Health this morniog resolved to sus
pend next Monday at noon until further

of yellow fever is reported prior to that

ternoon tua jury for the trial of Chaa-
tine Cox was completed to the satisfac
tion of counsel end sworn in. The dis
trict attorney will open for tho State to-
morrow.
Beddleford, Me., July 15.—It is un
derstood that K. M. Chapman, late treas
urer of the Btddieford Savings Bank,
who committed snioide Monday, devised
bis estate, which is eoppesed to ag
gregate $30,000, to tho Savings Bank. It
is yet too early to explain it as the back
examiners are inspecting the bank’s af
fairs.
