the provisions of section 4310 of tde code.
Mr. Grantland was granted leave of
absence.
A memorial was presented by Mr.
Wellborn from Hon. James A. Green io
reference to the fee paid Hon. W. O. Tag
gle by Governor Colquitt. Referred
the Joint Finance Committees of both
branches of tho Legislature.
Mr. McDaniel, Chairman of the Judi

On motion of Mr. McCarry, of Hart,
tho action of the House in regard to the
election of a committee of fcevon mem
bers of the House to conduct the im
peachment of Comptroller General Gold
smith was reconsidered.
Mr. McCarry of Hart moved to take up
tho resolution in regard to tho election of
tho seven members of tho House to con
duct tho impending impeachment trial
which had just been reconsidered and
moved to amend by striking out “the
highest vote”and inserting*^ majority of
the votes. Tho resolution as amended
was adopted.
The rales were suspended, and a bill
providiog for tho appointment of a Board
of Police CommiHBioaers in Augasta was
taken np and read tho second time.

The call of counties was entered upon,
and a number of billa introduced.
A resolution by Mr. Hirns, of Bibb,

claim for paymtns for services rendered
in claims against the Government.
On motion of Mr. Miller, of Houston,
the re3olntion was referred to a cpsciat
committee of three from tho House.
A bill by Mr. Adxmv, of Chatham, to
extend th6 corporate limit** of Savannah.
Referred to tho Judiciary Committee.
A bill by the same authorizing the levy
of a tax on railroads within the corporate
limits by the Mayor and Council of Si-

A bill by Mr. Jordan, of Crawford,
amending the aot creating a County
Board of Commissioners of roads in Craw

A bill by Mr. Pnillips, of Cobb, amend
