Mr. J. D. Bnffiagton, whose terrible
wounding on last Monday was noticed

about «* o’clock, from the effects of his
wounds. The affair U one of the most
cold blooded and butcherly murders that
bu been committed in a long while in
Middle Georgia. From reliable authori
ty we learn the facta in the case. Mr. F.
H Land, Mr. Buffington ahdMr. Frank
M.Linden were In » store together.
Land endeavored to raise a difficulty

store. He in some way procured Mr
Buffington's gun to shoot tteisndon

McLendon then took the gun from
both. 8coo after; the matter was all
settled and Land asked Buffington’s per-
don, they shaking hands In token of re
newed friendliness. As Mr. Buffington
was standing at the oo outer sooo after,
paying for some articlea,Lmd slipped np

manner, clasped his unsuspecting victim

to (il he exclaimed, “Ton have mar
dered me l" Land fled rapidly to the
woods, and has not been he .rd of sinoe.
It is thought he is in the neighborhood
as he has neither friends nor money.
There was no former quarrel between
tbe parties. Mr. Buffington was a crip

has made ao sncoeaaiol, enables people with
large or tmall means to reap all the benefits of
largest capital and best skill. Thousands of or
ders, in various sums, are pooled into one vast
amount and co- operated a, a mighty whole, thuj
securing to each shareholder all the advantage*
of the largest operator, immense profits are
d lvided monthly. Any amount, from *5 to *5,000
or more, ran be used successfully. Kew York
Baptist Weekly, September 28.-I878, says.- “By
the combination system *15 would make *75. or
5per cent; *50 pays *350, or 7 percent: *100
makes *1.000. or 10 per cent on the stock during
the month, according to tbe market." Frank
