the Branch at Summerville; previous to which
time applicants for the appointment will please
send in their names, together with tlieir recom
mendations, to the undersigned.
The village of Summerville is sit. .ted upon the
Sand Hills, three miles from Augusta, and is un
surpassed for health by any other locality in the
country. There are upon tlie premise' at.ached
to the Academy a comfortable dwelling, sufficient
for the accommodation of tiie Teacher and a few
boarders, a never failing well of pure water, and
all necessary out buildings.
The compensation of the Teacher will be the
whole of the tuition money; the rate of which per
quarter he will be at liberty to lix, and the use
ot the Academy, dwelling and other buildings.
The object of the Trustees is to make the school
a permanent one; and considering tlie many advan
tages of the situation, they feel every confidence
that it may be made profitable under tlie manage
ment of a well qualified instructor.

portion of the letter had been torn off, and possibly
either the direction or the writers name. The let
ter was used merely as a wrapper lo secure the mo
ney.
