CINQ JOURS, OR ANTi-BALSAMIC GONORRHfEAL SOLUTION, Warranted to cure in Five Days. ffMIIS incomparable and invaluable remedy so I long known, and used with such unparralleled success in the Canadas for the last 30 ycais, ap pears to need no panegyric. Its operation upon the human system is such that it invariably acts like a charm, for the relief and radical cure of a certain common and disagreeable “ills the flesh is heir to.” This prize obtains its own name from the certain success which has attended it through all of its trying circumstances, namely, “five days,” —the same success which followed it in a Northern lati tude still obtains in a more Southern. The formula or recipe was obtained at great expense, intrigue and hazard by M Chevcrcs, from the celebrated Indian Chief Wabenotiif., or Great Moon, whilst he, vlti: others was pursuing the lucrative Fur bu siness in the North-west with the Indians. — W ahenoshc prized highly and use it with invariable success throughout his two tribes. Us known and valued virtues have already enriched to an almost incredible extent the children of this warlike prince, not only by actual sale of the article itself to in dividuals, hut by parting with copies of his receipt at enormous prices to the Chief of every tribe of Indians in America, with a solemn promise to the Great Spirit, never to divulge the “art of its com position until he sleeps with his fathers,” although free to use it in their respective tribes, which places it in the hands of every Indian who rely with, I may say, religious confidence on its cura ble powers. Below is a copy of the translation as near as it can he anglisizcd of the deed given by VVahenoslic, to M. Chevcrct, when he purchased the original recipe, and had twice assisted the Chief himself through the tedious manipulatory process of manufacture. Few white men would credit the length of time which is consumed in preparing the article for im mediate use. Since this discovery so long and anx iously looked for, some one in nimosv tU« extreme North has advertised a'Tomato Pill, purportingfo he made from the stalk, a thing not more aosuiu than for one to offer meal from the corn stalk, to say nothing of the difficulty of raising the Tomato so far North. Dr. Miles, of Cincinnati, is the proprietor of the Tomato Pills (proper) for the great benefits of which, he holds himself bound, and in honor pledg ed to prove by their use, that they are all that they profess to he, and will do for otheis what they have done for such as mav have used them; as this is a vegetable of great use, and value, it will doubtless he valuable information to families to know that the Yellow are just doubly as valuable as the Red ’Tomato, and produces twice as much of the hapatine, or active principle, and when used as a daily vegetable will he found to keep the system u) much bettor condition than the other kind -, many will recollect with what trembling anxiety calomel has been given to children, and how they then wished for a substitute. It has long been known that the Tomato contained ca thartic principles, but not until of late wag it ascertained that they contained alterative and diu retic properties. The Faculty embrace and use the preparation most cheerfully, for the reason that they know what it is Wore il a patent mystery, they would be bound to reject the medicine, as they justly do the one thousand and one cure-alls of the day. If you wish to cleanse the system with a mild, sa.c anti-bilious medicine, use the Tomato Pill, of which a supply, we learn, will soon be in this city. They have passed away from the hundreds that are daily launched upon the tide of experiment, and now stand before the public as high in reputation, and as extensively employed in all parts of the United States, the Canadas, Texas Mexico, and the West Indies, as any medicine that has ever been prepared for the relief of suffering man. t hey have been introduced wherever it was found possible to carry them ; and there are but few towns that do not contain some remarkable evidences of their good effects. The certificates that have been presented to the proprietor exceed twenty thousand! upwards of live hundred of which are from regular practising physicians, who are the most competent judges of their merits. | Often have the cures performed by this medkfin been the subject of editorial comment, in variou newspapers and journals; and it may with truth be assorted, that no medicine of the kin 1 has ever re ceived testimonials of greater value th in are at tached to this. They arc in general use as a family medicine and there are.tliousands of families who declare they are never satisfied until they have a supply always on hand. They have no rival in curing and preventing Billions Fevers, Fever and Ague, Dyspepsia, Liver- Complaints, Sick Headache, Jaundice. The following was forwarded to Dr. Peters, by a highly'respectable Planter of Wake County, No Ca.,March 3d, 1838: Dr. Peters —Dear Sir, —Hy requestor your agent, Mr. Harrison, I send you a few lines respecting the Almost miraculous effects of your pil's;, and I would add, that you may make use ol them, in connection with my name, in any maimer you deem proper, I speak of their merits from experience,as I and my family have taken upwards of thirty boxes in three years; ami so great ane the benefits we haverecerv cd from them in general, that 1 would rather pur chase them at ten dollars a box than have my house without them. I will not enumerate the afflictions they have relieved us of; but 1 can assure you they were many, and of very opposite natures, which has fully proved to me that your medicine is a sim ple purifier of the system, ami therefore equally' the enemy of every disease. I will mention one case. I have a sister who had been for a long pe riod severely afflicted with dropsy in the chest and was brought by it to the very verge of the grave. She was attended by the most eminent physicians that money could procure; but all their efforts to restore her to health, or even to mitigate her suffer ings were fruitless ; and accordingly,we all consid ered her immediate death as inevitable. Hy good fortune, however, as she was in this situation, ex pecting every day to be her last, your pills were introduced into my family, and so speedy and pal pable were their effects that three doses visibly re lieved her, ami in less than three months she was perfectly restored to health. This case, I and all who were witness of it, (but more especially' the suffering party,) considered to be the next thing to miraculous; and y r et I could mention many more of an equally desperate nature, in which your pills were equally successful in rescuing the patients from the jaws of death. Need 1 add that the pojm larityof your medicine amounts to enthusiasm in this section of the country } Hut this I presume you know from the immense quantity you dispose of 1 may mention, however, that notwithstanding its general use, I never heard an individual complain of its effects. My residence ir 12 miles from Ral cigh, on the road to Fayetteville. I am, with sen timents of regard, your ob’t servant. A. G. BANKS. To Dr. Peters, —Sir—For upward" of fifteen months, 1 have been cruelly afflicted with Fever and Ague; and during the time could find nothing— though 1 had applied to every tiling that gave me any thing like permanent relief. At length, how ever, ymur pills were recommended to me, by one of our best physicians, and I am most grateful and happy in being able to add, that 1 had scarcely used two boxes when I found that they had restored me to perfect health. Since then, various members of my family have used them with equal success— and consequently I fee) it my duty to apprise you of the fact, and to request of you to publish this certificate, as I am anxious to add my public testi mony to the almost miraculous virtues of your un rivalled medicine. Respectfully yours, THEODORE JAMES. Augusta, On., Fob 10, 1839. Communication received from the eminent Dr. J. H. Irwin of Florence, Georgia: Dr. J. P. Peters —My Dear Sir—On the night of I the 11th inst., 1 was called in great haste to the house of a fellow ci.izen, (Mr. Lee,) where I found his son laboring under a most alarming attack of Cynanche Tracnealis (Croup) and apparently be yond the aid of remedy. By the greatest good for tune, however, 1 had in my pocket a broken box of your pills—four of which I administered, with such immediate happy effect that in a few minutes my patient was at ease, and out of danger. This case,in connection with my name is at your ser vice—and I have the pleasure to be able to inform y'ou that your inestimable medicine is in sucli great favor with the faculty here, that I believe there is not one of them who docs not use it in bis private practice. Extract from a letter written by Dr. Francis Bo gart, of Providence, 11. 1., Dec. 17, 1838.—Peters’ pills are an excellent aperient and cathartic medi cine, those effects being produced by the differences of the quantify taken, and are decidedly superior to Lee’s, Brandreth’s or Morrison’s Pills. Extract from a letter by Or. Hopson of Bangor, Me , Jan. 9, 1839 They arc a peculiarly mild, yet efficient purgative medicine, and produce little, if any, griping or nausea. 1 have prescribed them with much success in sick headache and slight bil lious fever. Extract of a letter by Dr. Joseph Williams ol Burlington, Vt., July 9, 1837. —1 cordially recom mend Peters’ Pills as a mildly effective, and in no case dangerous, family medicine. They are indeed a superior medicine, and reflect credit alike upon the Chemist, tlie Physician, and the Philosopher. Extract of a letter from Dr. Waincs of -Cincin nati, Feb. 2, 1838. —Your Pills are the mildest in their operations, and yet most powerlul in their ef fects, of any that I have ever met with in a practice of eight and twenty years. Their action on the chyle, and hence on the impurities of the blood, is evidently very surprising. Extract of a letter from Dr. Scott of Baltimore, Dec. 17,1836. —I am in the daily habit of prescri bing them, (Peters’Pills) and they in nearly all cases answered my purpose I have discarded othei medicines, some of them very good ones, in their favor. Dear Sir —I have made frequent use of your Pills in the incipient stage of bilious fever, and ohsti nate constipation of the bowels ; also, in the en largement of the sp'een, chronic diseases of the liver, sick head-ache, general debility, and in all case have found them to be very effective. June 3 FINHE great celebrity of this unrivalled Compo i silion, especially in the Northern States, leaves the proprietor hut little need to say any thing in its favor: hir it has been generally conceded to ir,that it is beyond all comparison the best remedy for ex ternal complaints that has ever been discovered. Indeed tho.spced and certainly ol its operations, have the appearanre of miracles : as ulcers, wounds, corns, fever sores, chilblains, while swellings, biles, piles, spider and snake bites, &c. &c., immediately yield to Us superhuman influence. Thus, it prop erly applied it will remove an inveterate corn or break and heal a Idle in five uays, will allay and perfectly cure an ulcer m two weeks, and Ihu most desperate casesot white swelling that can be ima gin'd, have been destroyed by it in less than two months. In the bites of poisonous reptiles its effi cacy is truly surprising, and if applied in time, its powers of attraction are so wonderful that they will at once arrest the poison and ihtts prevent it from pervading ibo system. It is likewise greatly snpe j rior to any medicine heretofore discovered for the dialed back and limbs of horses —lor tellers, ring worms, chapped lips—and in short, ibr every exter nal bodily evil that may fall to the lot of man or beast. The proprielor has received nt least a thousand certificates, and other documents, in favor of his “ Specific Oinlm nt,” upwards of a hundred of which were written by respectable members of the Medical Faculty. Until the appearance of the ” Lucina Cor dial,” (about three years since,) it was thought that the complaints, which it speedily overcomes, wore beyond the reach ol human remedy, as for upwards of a thousand ytars. they had bafllpd lire wisdom and ingenuity of Ihe most profound' physicians in all pans of the world. In all the various cases ol languor, lassitude, and debilitation ; it is an unfailing life*, dy ; as it is equally its province to impart clie<W«(. ness and decision to the mind, ns health and vigor to the body. But. the peculiar virtueon which Its celebrity is based, is the facility and certainly with which it restores the virile powers when they Lave hem destroy ed by disease, time, recklessness, orany of the numerous causes which terminate in the prostration of those functions. In common with the generality of really good medicines, this t ordial contains nothing of a n;cr curia) or deleterious nature, among the many ingre. dients which compose it; but is, at ihnsame lime, so simple, yet so efficacious, that while il can reno vate llio prostrated energies of a giant, an infant may use it,not only with impunity, but with ad vantage, The usages of sociely are unfortunately such, that, notwithstanding the benefits which would be sure to result from it, weenunotenler into au analy sis ol this ine limable Cordial here, or publish many of the documents which have been received, as vouchers ol the blessings it lias conferred on num. bersof despairing individuals. But this wc cannol forbear remarking—that it has been demount rated that there is scarcely ever, it any such thing at all, as ualural barrenness, or as natural imbecility ol ihe proercantluncl ions, in either sex ; and therefore, I hat these evils are the effects of artificial causes, and may be speedily subdued «nd removed by the use ot “ Le Cordial oe Lucine.” The Lucina Cordial is also an indubitable cure for theGleei, and ihe Floor Alims, obstructed, diffi cult, or painful Menstruation; also, for the incon tinence ol Urine,or the involuntary discharge there ol It is likewise an invaluable and unrivalled medicine in cases of Chronic Eruptions of theskin, and in the dropsical affections ot the aged.
