ANTi-BALSAMIC OONORRHfEAL SOLUTION,
Warranted to cure in Five Day*.
rrtHIS incomparable and invaluable remedy so
J long known, and used with such unparralleled ,
success in the Canadas fur the last 30 year , ap
i pears to need no panegyric. Its operation upon the
human system is such that it invariably acts like .
a charm, for the relief ami radical cure of a certain I
common and disagreeable “ills the flesh is heir to.” I
This prize obtains its own name from Ihe certain i
success which has attended it through all of its
trying circumstances, namely, “five days,”—the I
same success which follawed it in a Northern lali- I
tude still obtains in a more Southern. The formula ■
or recipe was obtained at great expense, intrigue '
and hazard by M. Cbeveres, from the celebrated I
Indian Chief Waicnothe, or Great Moon, whilst
he, with others was pursuing the lucrative Fur bu
siness in the North-west with the Indians. —
Wabcnoshe prized highly and use it with invariable
success throughout his two tribes. Its known and
valued virtues have already enriched to an almost
incredible extent the children of this warlike prince, 1
not only by actual sale of Ihe article itself to in
dividual*, but by parting with copies of bis receipt 1
at enormous prices to the Chief of every tribe of *
Indians in America, with a solemn promise to the
Great Spirit, never to divulge the “ait of its com
position until he sleeps with his fathers,” although
free to use it in their respective tribes, which f
places it in the hands of every Indian who rely ,
with, I may tay, religious confidence on its cura
ble powers.
Below Is a copy of the translation as near as it can |
be anglisized of the deed given by Wabcnoshe, to (
M.Cheveret, when he purchased the original recipe,
and had twice assisted the Chief himself through '
the tedious manipulatory process of manufacture, I
Few white men would credit the length of time t
which is consumed in preparing the article for im
mediate use.

Radical Cure ol Hernia or Rupture, by Dr.
Phase’s Improved Surgeons’ Trusses.
FIN HE subscriber has opened an office, at the Drug
store of Messrs. J. J. Robertson A To., forthe
treatment of Hernia or Rupture, by means of these
ustly celebrated instruments. He has now used
them for nearly a year, and, did not delicacy forbid,
he could name several persons who have been radi
cally cured, of this truly distressing and dangerous
affection, by the useof these Trusses, besides many
others wbo are in a fairway of being entirely re
lieved. The following is the language of the com
mittee ol the Philadelphia Medical Society on the
Radical Cure of Hernia.
“ The instruments of Dr. Chase have efiected
the permanent and accurate retention of the in
testines in every case of Hernia observed by the
committee, without material inconvenience to the
patient, and often under trials more severe than
are usually ventured upon by those who wearother
trusses; trials that would be imprudent with any
other apparatus known to the committee.”
“ 'The committee arc induced by the foregoing
conclusions to recommend, in strong terms the in
struments of Dr. Phase to the confidence of
the profession, as the best known means of me
chanical retention in hernia, and as furnishing the
highest chances of radical cure.”
The fol.owing is from the Southern Medical and
Southern Journal, published in our own city.
“ All must admit of the radical cure of hernia,
and that Dr. Phase's Trusses are decidedly the best
yet invented to effect the object.”
Persons from a distance can have the instruments
applied, upon application at the offiee, and all ne
cessary information given to enable them to
it themselves. The poor, who are laboring muter
this afflicting complaint, will be treated gratuitous
ly upon presenting a certificate, from someicsponsi
ble person, of their pecuniary disability.
The instruments are of all sizes, and applicable
to every variety of reducible rupture,

hundreds that are daily launched upon the tide of
experiment, and now stand before the public as
high in reputation, and as extensively employed in
all parts of the United States, the Canadas, Texas
Mexico, and the West Indies, as any medicine that
has ever been prepared for the relief of suffering
man. They have been introduced wherever it was
found possible to carry them -, and there are but
few towns that do not contain some remarkable
evidences of their goad effects. The certificates
that have been presented to the propiietor exceed
twenty thousand! upwards of live hundred of
which are from regular practising physicians, who
arc the most competent judges of their merits.
| Often have the cures performed by this mediciti
been the subject of editorial comment, in variou
newspapers and journals; and it may with truth be
asserted, that no medicine of the kin 1 has ever re
ceived testimonials of greater value thin are at
tached to this.
They arc in general use as a family medicine
and there are, thousands of families who declare they
1 re never satisfied until they have a supply always
on hand.
They have no rival in curing and preventing
Billious Fevers, Fever and Ague, Dyspepsia, Liver
Complaints, Sick Headache, Jaundice, Asthma,
Dropsy, Rheumatism, Enlargement of the Spleen,

Complexion, and in cases of torpor of the bowels,
where a cathartic or aperient is needed They are
exceedingly mild in their operation, producing
neither nausea, griping nor debility.
The following was forwarded to Dr. Peters, by a
highly respectable Planter of Wake County, No
Ca.,March 3d, 1838:
Dr. Peters—Dear Sir,—By requestor your agent,
Mr. Harrison, I send you a few lines respecting the
almost miraculouscffects of your piPs; and I would
add, that you may make use ol them, in connection
with my name, in any manner you deem proper, I
speak of their merits from experience, as 1 and my
family have taken upwards of thirty boxes in three
years; and so great anc the benefits we have receiv
ed from them in general, that I would rather pur
chase them at ten dollars a box than have my house
without them. 1 will not enumerate the afflictions
they have relieved us of; but 1 can assure you they
were many, and of very opposite natures, which
has fully proved to me that your medicine is a sim
ple purifier of the system, and therefore equally
the enemy of every disease. I will mention one
case. I have a sister who had been for a long pe
riod severely afflicted with dropsy in the chest and
was brought by it to the very verge of the gras e.
She was attended by the most eminent physicians
that money could procure; but all their efforts to
restore her to health, or even to mitigate her suffer
ings were fruitless ; and accordingly,we all consid
ered her immediate death as inevitable. By good
fortune, however, as she was in this situation, ex
pecting every day to be her last, your pills were
introduced into my family, and so speedy and pal
pable were their effects that three doses visibly re
lieved her, and in less than three months she was
perfectly restored to health. This case, I and all
who were witness of it, (but more especially the
suffering party,) considered to be the next thing to
miraculous; and yet I could mention many more
of an equally desperate nature, in which your pills
were equally successful in rescuing the patients
from the jaws of death. Need I add that the popu
larity of your medicine amounts to enthusiasm in
this section of the country > But this I presume
you know’ from the immense quantity you dispose
of, 1 may mention, however, that notwithstanding
its general use, I never heard an individual complain

To Dr. Peters, —Sir —For upwards of fifteen
months, 1 have been cruelly afflicted with Fever
and Ague; and during the time could find nothing—
though 1 had applied to every thing that gave me
any thing like permanent relief. At length, how
ever, your pills were recommended to me, by one
of our best phjsicians, and 1 am most grateful and
happy in being able to add, that I had scarcely used
two boxes when 1 found that they had restored me
to perfect health. Since then, various members of
my family have used them with equal success—
and consequently I feel it my duty to apprise you
of the fact, and to request of you to publish this
certificate, as 1 am anxious to add my public testi
mony to the almost miraculous virtues of your un
rivalled medicine. Respectfully yours,
THEODORE JAMES.

Communication received from the eminent Dr. J.
H. Irwin of Florence, Georgia:
Dr. J. P. Peters—My Dear Sir —On the night of
the 11th inst., I was called in great haste to the
house of a fellow citizen, (Mr. Lee,) where 1 found
his son laboring under a most alarming attack of
Cynanche Tracncalis (Croap) and apparently be
yond the aid of remedy. By the greatest good for
tune, however, 1 had in my pocket a broken box of
your pills—four of which 1 administered, with
such immediate happy effect that in a few minutes
my patient was at ease, ami out of danger. This
case,in connection with my name is at your ser
vice—and I have the pleasure to be able to inform
you that your inestimable medicine is in such great
favor with the faculty here, that I believe there is
not one of them who does not use it in his private
practice. Yours most resp’y.

fINHE great celebrityof this unrivalled Compo
-1 sit ion, especially in the Northern States, leaves
the proprietor but little need to say any thing in its
favor; for it has been generally conceded to it,that
it is beyond all comparison the beet remedy for ex
ternal complaints that has ever been discovered.
Indeed thc.speed and certainly of its operations,
have the appearance of miracles ; as ulcers, wounds,
corns,fever sores,chilblains, wliileswellings, biles,
piles, spider and snake bites,Ac. Arc., immediately
yield to its superhuman influence. Thus, it prop
erly applied it will remove an inveterate corn or
break and heal a bile in five nays, will allay and
perfectly curean ulcer mtwoweeks, and the most
desperate casei-ot white swelling that can be ima
gined, have been destroyed by it in less than two
months. Imhe bites of poisonous reptiles its effi
cacy is truly surprising, and if applied in time, its
powers of attraction are so wonderful that they will
at once arrest the poison and thus prevent it from
pervading the system. It is likewise greatly supe
rior to any medicine heretofore discovered for the
chafed hack and limbs of horses—lor tetters, ring
worms, chapped lips—and in short, for every exter
nal bodily evil that may fall to the lot of man or
beast.
The proprietor has received it least a thousand

the complaints, which it speedily overcomes, were
beyond the reachof human remedy, as lor upwards
of a thousand years, they had baffled the wisdom
and ingenuity ol the most profound physicians in
all parts ol the world. This Cordial, howi ver, to
the great sdvnnlage of the human race, soon proved
itsell to he the desideratum so long sought lor; and
accordingly, notwithstanding the brief period of its
exislenre.it has required a celebrity so great, that
it is eagerly inquired (or throughout the civilized
globe. Dr Magnin soon finding that the demand
was so vast as to render a supply impossible, dis
posed of the recipe and right ol sale, under obliga

the benefits of his speculation. I
“let'ordinl De Lucine,” or, in English, “the
Lucina Cordial,” is a general invigorator of the
human frame! In alt the v arious cases of languor,
lassitude, and debilitation ; it is an unfailing reme
dy ; as it is equally its province to impart cheerful
ness and decision to the mind, ns health and vigor
to the body. But the peculiar virtue on which its
celebrity is based, is the facility and certainty with
which it restores the virile powers when they havo
been destroyed by disease,lime,recklessness,orany
of the numerous causes which terminate in the
prostration of ihose functions.
In common with the generality of really good
medicines, this A ordial contains nothing of a mer
curial or deleterious nature, among the many ingre
dients which compose it; butis.ai ihe same lime,
so simple, yet so efficacious, that while it can reno
vate the prostrated energies of a giant, an infant
may use it,not only with impunity, but with ad
vantage.
The usages of society are unfortunately such,
that, notwithstanding the benefits which would be
sure to result from it, wecannotenleriiuu an analy
sis ui this inestimable Cordial here, or publish many
ol the documents which have been received, as
vouchers ul the blessings it hits conferred on mim
bersof despairing individuals. But ti. is wc cannot
forbear remarking—that it has been demonstrated
that there is scarcely ever, it any such thing at all,
as natural barrenness, or as natural imbecility of
Ihe proercantlunclioiis.incilhersex ; and therefore,
that, theseevils are the eflects of artificial causes,
and may be speedily subdued and removed by the
use ol “ Le ('ordial de Lucine.”
Tbs Lucinn Cordial is also an indubitable cure
for the Gleei.and the Fluor Albus, obstructed, diffi
cull, or painful Menstruation; also, for the incon
linenct ol Urine,or the involuntary discharge there
of. It is likewise on invaluable and unrivalled
medicine in coses of Chronic Eruptions of theskin,
and in the dropsical affections of the aged.

To Dr. Magnin;—My dear friend—l am most
gratified at the unprecedented popularity oi your
“Lucna Cordial, and am able to near testimony to
its surprising virtue. I bad a patient recently,
1 M , a gentleman ol fortune, who bad for
several years abandoned himscll in the vortex oi
dissipation; and was only reclaimed from il at
lengih by the utter prostration of ail his virile ener
gies. He was, indeed, retim ed to Ihe Inst extremity
ot debility and t istelessness, for, if an occasional
flash of excitement warmed his system, the reac
tion was almost immtdiale, and the result perfect
prostration. 1 had applied all the usual nostrums
in such cases ; but, as 1 had anticipated, without
success; and when I saw the “ Lucyia Coidial”
advertised, 1 must confess that even the great weight
of your name did not gne me much hope in it, at
least so far as regarded the ease in hand. 1 fell
bound to try it.kuwev.r,mid was soon satisfied of
its efficacy; fur before a bottle was expended, my
patient gaveevidenoe of the reluming elasticity of
bissysten. ; and Ire is now, h-iving used four buttles,
as wellcu ever. .J I
